Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

“I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots or only five? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?”

"You don't know how fast you can go until you crash."

For many many years I not only took this to heart but attributed it to the great desert racer J.N. Roberts. After re watching On Any Sunday a few years back I realize it was actually from one of the flat trackers of the same era. Dana Aldana maybe.

Either way, I've always thought it was chillingly apropos.

I really like Ted Simon's line from Jupiter's Travels I have in my signature, especially as it was written before the advent of the internet

“Instant information is instantly obsolete. Only the most banal ideas can successfully cross great distances at the speed of light. And anything that travels very far very fast is scarcely worth transporting, especially the tourist.”

Cash ... is for a business as oxygen is for an individual: I never think of it when it is present, and it is the only thing on my mind when it is absent.....Buffet

Saw this one online:

I think we can all agree that every answer to this question in 2015 has turned out wrong: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
