Now that I’ve sold my GS (great bike but the dealer was a “HOSE-BAG”) I’ve cleared the way for buying my Yamaha.
Been checking this forum for all the different farkles I might need, want, for my next scooter.
Looking forward to the adventures ahead.

Welcome on, Boyd from Oregon. When do you get your bike? What color will it be? Whereabouts in Oregon are you? Glad you decided to become one of us. Let us know when you get the old boy, and send some pics. ::004:: R. ::022::

rem,

Currently I’m recovering from knee surgery so I need to wait for my recovery before throwing a leg over it. Might be as soon as three months.
Not a big fan the black. It’s nice looking but my favorite is BLUE.
I live in the heart of the willamette valley, just north of Eugene where some of the best riding and hunting is just minutes from my driveway.

Welcome to the forum. It's a great place to poke around and learn stuff about the S10. Just North of Eugene? Oh crap, not Coberg I hope! ;)
You might want to check out the OBS listserv which is a moto/geek related email list more or less centered on Portland, but also has members from Creswell to Seattle, (err, and in UT and a few other states). http://micapeak.com/mailman/listinfo/obs] http://micapeak.com/mailman/listinfo/obs

I imagine you're already aware of the Rose City Motorcycle Club and their Grand Tour, but if not, check out the link. Good excuses to go for rides when your knee is better and you have a bike again. http://www.rose-city-mc.org/RCFrameset.html

I spent much of the last 48 years in and around Portland. I know the ups and downs of the Willamette valley well. And the curves of Hwy 38 & Hwy 42/42S into Bandon... ::001::

Eric,
Thanks for the above information. And no, I was not aware of the RCMC. I’ll have to check them out.
What I do know is I’ve been planning for several years on doing the OBCDR http://www.treknow.com/obcdr/. 900 plus miles some of the most beautiful country here in Oregon you can see from the seat of a motorcycle.

Should be a fun time. I've been all over Oregon and seen most of the areas on the OBCDR, but not taken the off highway routes to the full extent. There is a Utah BCR too and I'd like to explore that myself. The S10 is a good bike for such things, if a bit heavy. I'm not young enough to go hammer the trails all day and camp at night any more. :) But I imagine there is fun to be had at many levels.

It will heal, and be a heck of a lot less painful than bone on bone was. :-[

Glad they thought you were a worthy candidate for the extra parts! Do your PT and you'll be good to go in no time. Just remember, the Therapist graduated from Helga's House of Pain for a reason, watch out for the whips! ???

Welcome aboard! Hope we can answer many/all of your questions and help you in your selection of a SuperT! Sounds like you are pretty much on top of it since you already know what the best color is!!
