I thought it would be fun to post some pictures of old girl friends, long lost loves that we had back in the day. I loved them all but miss some more than others...

Here is a couple of my old flames:

This was the very first bike I owned that actually ran and took me places, and wasn't just a pile of parts in my parents' basement that outstripped my fledgling abilities to put them back together into a working motorcycle. I'd guess this is sometime in 1984, when I was stationed overseas....

I had a good friend that was a pro flat track racer back in the 70's so I got to spend a lot of time around the Camel Pro Series and the XR1200 is one of those bikes I just had to have. Rode it about a thousand miles and never could get comfortable on it.

.
What was the major drawback for you. I rode one for a few hours and the riding position wasn't for me. I could tell in a mile. He rode my "breathed on" ZRX1200. When he got off of it he said WOW.View attachment 83741IMG_0002 (1).JPG

I feel your pain man. There's a reason they are ex-wives.

do not have a photo handy but my favorite "girl friend " in the 80's was a KZ 750 . next time I'm at my moms I will see if I can wrangle a copy of it. sold it in 83 to buy a new Suzuki GS but new girl friend , soon to be wife , and later the ex wife , frowned on it . she had something I thought was more important at the time , later to be child support.... it makes one stupid I think.

My old girlfriend is still in the garage. My FJ 1200. Bought it new in '86; two years before my current wife. I guess the KZ, ST, & RT would be mistresses?
