Purchased a 2017ES last Tuesday, got the maiden voyage in today with 356 breaking in miles.

Cool bike, the seat is my only complaint along with the silly gear indicator. Why not make it like the FJR? Anyway I’m real happy with it.

Former FJR rider of a 05 & 2013.
Sold the 13 in Nov with plans of getting a 2016 FJR but as time went by a decided on something a bit lighter and different. I also have a BMW K75.

I’m 60 so from one thread I read I’m playing with those in the same age group , cheers!

Welcome, the seat will break in you're arse or visa versa, stick with it she'll be right.
I’m hoping. Thought about putting it in the sun with bricks on top of it.

Put 350+miles on it Friday, changed the oil when I got home and checked things over good.
46mpg on the first tank.

I really like it.

Some of you are on ADVRider and may have seen the thread where a rider hung his pants leg on the L/H shaft cover and fell over.

I figured why chance it, sounds like something I would do so I fixed it with some sheet metal.

Welcome to finally arriving at this side of the Yammie line with other prior (and some current) FJR owners.

Ok, question here. Handle bar mounts have a dimple in one corner, this I’m sure marks the position of how it should be mounted.

From my youth I put new Honda’s together and these dimples always went forward. My new SuperT looks like below;

Poor shot but the right clamp is incorrect IMO? The left has the dimple fwd.
What you say?

I also found my battery terminals were barely tight.
Time to go over the whole bike it appears.

They are identical though, No? No physical casting difference... That dimple on the right clamp could never face out if my brain is working right. On a GenI you could turn 'em any direction.

The clamps are not ground square or flush with each other. One side is, the riders side is ground more, so the dimple side is thicker. Reason being is so it actually clamps the bar.
