I am in, just got vacation time approved. I will be riding up from Vegas. I plan to tent it, in the group area, if anyone is counting heads.

I haven't been on this forum for a while and just came across this. Does anyone know what day the ride to Toroweap lookout will be? I think I read all of the pages but missed the itinerary if it's in there. I will just be going home to Phoenix on Monday from quad riding on the Paiute trail. I have to go home because my wife still works. I don't know what day I can come back up to Utah. I really want to ride this ride. Thanks

Been watching this thread since last Fall & I'm glad the rally's gonna happen. I'll be riding from Longmont CO on the 19th but not set on a route yet; plan to arrive by 20th evening. I'm camping - hope there'll be a tent space. I look forward to riding some dirt with you all!

I don't believe there is an Itinerary for this Rally, sort of an un-rally. Groups of riders will be headed out for all points of the compass at totally random times. It would be cool if somebody with a trailer could bring a white board so folks could "plan" a when and where outing. "I'm headed there, at this time, wanna go?" It would be easier than standing at the gates all geared up asking each group where they're going.

Great idea! I wish there was some more organization myself. However, my brother and I will be there. Although I love "Moto camping", I'm going soft on this one and bringing my toyhauler. I'd be glad to bring a whiteboard, or the likes, to help out. Just need someone to keep me in the loop here. I've been looking forward to this since it was announced.

Ok thanks. I think I'll go check out the lookout next week. I'm newly retired and just turned 59 last week. This is kinda fun. I have 6000 miles on my new ST and trying to sell my 12.

I will not make it this year. Between shoulder surgery this spring, and cracking a rib in TN in July, I am just not in shape to ride that far this year.

Was holding out, but cancelled my vacation today. And I still need Arizona and NM to complete riding in the lower 48. Oh well there is always next year.

This is right along the route I was planning to take anyway.
Shenanigans, Utah.
If that's Antelope Canyon you can only see it via paid guided tour so not a cheap detour. I was just in the area last month touring in the Miata and hiked Angel's Landing in Zion NP.. THAT was an excellent hike and well worth it.

Wish I could make this one but my vacation time is winding down so have to just watch from the bleachers.

I am leaving Calgary, Alberta this coming Sunday to start working my way south to the rally. On my way, I am doing the Washington Back Country Discovery route from north to south with a buddy starting next Monday. The WBCDR should take 6 days and assuming the bike and I are still in one piece I will be working my way down through Oregon, Nevada and into Utah. I should hit the campground Tuesday afternoon. I will see you all there! David

I'll be riding down from Oregon leaving on Monday the 19th and riding to Ely, NV to stay at the Nevada Hotel and Gambling Hall. It's a cool historic hotel. The Monday ride is a long one, 740 miles. I'll leave early in AM, stop for breakfast to break things up and then finish the day riding to Ely.

Tuesday will be an easy 260 miles to the resort with time to see some sights along the way.

Google Map of route >> http://goo.gl/L7TdLl

Hotel link >> http://hotelnevada.com

I'm happy to have anyone come along for the ride.

;-) Paul

There are canyons that look similar to this right in Zion, 5 min walk down from the main rd. Antelope Canyon near Page AZ is around $50 for the guided tour. They only allow guided tours after a few people were drown in a flash flood there I guess. Shenanigans looks really cools, from what I quickly found is near Hite Ut, 5 hours east of Zion?

I'm working on planning some rides while I'm at the Rally in a couple of weeks. I'll have street tires on and so will be looking for paved routes. No BDR for me this month...

I'm looking a this website that has lots of great rides in and around Utah. http://www.motorcycleroads.com/Routes/Utah_120.html

I'll be there Tuesday afternoon and will hit the road heading north on Friday to return to Oregon. If you have suggestions for a few good days of routes, let me know and/or join me.
