There shouldn't be any problem with me copying the instructions and posting them. Nothing secret there. When I set up my last ST1300 I did a pictoral and posted it on the st-owners site and got a lot of good feedback and I hope to do that here with the S10. It will be interesting to see how much is involved in setting it up. Some bikes are simple and some are a pain in the butt. For instance, I can do a Goldwing in about an hour, but some of the Yamaha cruisers take most of a day, with all the extra stuff that comes with them that has to be installed. Also, I hate to say it, but Yamaha's setup instructions are worlds behind Honda's. A couple years ago we had a visit from a Yamaha rep that handled maintenance issues, etc. The mechanics sent him to the set up shop where I was working that day. He asked us if we had any problems and I showed him the difference in set up instructions. All he could do was agree with us that this was certainly a problem. I might as well have been talking to the wall.
I don't think there will be too much to set up on the S10 and I will try to remember to document it and post it here. I say try to remember, because part of the set up process is to fill out two sections of the checklist, one before it is started and one after it is started and ridden. Now, some just get a leasurely ride around the lot, to check the brakes, shifting, etc, but if the bike happens to be something that happens to be "interesting" it just might get a dealer plate on it before it gets a thorough check out ride. ;D
