For the love of God does anyone know how to remove the lock tumblers from the OEM side bags. I have followed some instructions to open lock with key and place awl in tiny hole then remove backing screws, but for me it will not release the mechanism from the case.

If someone has instructions to aide in this, please share.

Pull those two little screws out, and the tumblers should come apart quite easily. The only issue is that they're security bit head screws. (yeah, why put security bits inside the box?) If you don't have the security bits, Harbor Freight has them for cheap.

They come apart so easily, without threadlocker applied, that it is common to not be able to get the boxes open.

What he said. This looks like the same question I just answered earlier this evening on the ST Facebook page. The use of those security torx screws inside the box has always baffled me; it's like, is that all they had left in the bin when they got to that point in the assembly, because there's no other logical explanation.
