HI,

Hoping for some words of wisdom. I want to install a set of rear LED Plus indicators to my 2018. Thought it would be a simple replace as they already have the standard LED indicators (I think). The installation instructions are rubbish. First problem, how to remove the rear light section to access the wiring. It feels like I have dismantled most of the rear end and still cannot get the rear light section off to access the wiring. Is there a knack or something obvious I am missing? Second problem, I can see where the indicators are connected to the plasticwork but can't see how to remove them. I thought it would be some sort of bolt set up but it isn't. Again, any advice/guidance? I have tried searching and not been successful. I did see an entry from 'Grumpy' saying he had done it and it was 'fun' but nothing else. HELP:oops:

I googled LED Plus, lots of hits but nothing to do with motorcycle lighting. North American Super Tens come stock with LED signals so likely nobody knows what you are trying to do, and why?

I haven't had mine off, but if you look at the blinker mount underneath with a flashlight you will see on top and the bottom there is a horizontal tab.
The flat, teardrop shaped plate fits between these tabs, but there are 2 small notches in these tabs on the top and bottom.
I would guess you need to spread these tabs slightly to allow the teardrop shaped plate to click out of these 2 notches and then the blinker should be released.
I think the wiring connections are up under the luggage rack, so the passenger seat and plastic luggage plate probably need to come off to locate the connections.

If you are going to use blinkers that bolt on I suspect you will need to fab some type of plate up that will allow you to use the stock holes. A small teardrop shaped plate similar to stock should allow you make a nice looking install.

I would get a large washer and grind it down to match the stock shape and then paint it black.

On my '12 the electrical plugs for the rear lights are under the driver's seat, beneath the plastic tray. Each light has it's own two wire plug.

A few months ago I replaced all 4 for LED's with running and brake lights. I had to remove the pillion seat, grab rails and luggage rack to get to the rear light housing and get the old ones off. Will you neet to fit relays to correct the flashing speed? If so there is room under the luggage area. You may need to get a torx anti tamper with hole set to remove the bolts securing the grab rails. I bought a set of these.
