Back then Honda were adept at filling every segment - think 1989 PC800 Pacific Coast. An underpowered heavy old bus, developed in CA by car guys, with some innovative ideas on board, that could have been so much better. It never reached the UK officially, but now seems quite collectable, if that's your bag.
I picked up a PC800 really cheap a while back, figured I'd fix it and flip it. Turns out that it got a bad rap from people who never rode one or who were just too snooty to try it, in my opinion. It had plenty of power, wasn't large and it was very smooth and comfortable to ride. The looks were probably the most polarizing aspect of it, but I feel like it has aged well. No valve adjustments needed, shaft drive, oil change is simple....it was a good idea that wasn't executed very well. I kept the bike for a few years and only sold it when I needed garage room, but miss it. Anyway, they are worth a look for a light duty touring bike or convenient commuter.
