I arrived at Byrds yesterday and have determined that I am getting drastically premature wear on my rear tire. I normally get 3k on these Mitas e09 Dakar rear tires but at 1400 TAT miles on it in 4 long hot days - I am around 75% spent. Due to my normal mileage I shipped a tire out to a stop I will make at the 3 Step Hideaway but at this rate I am pretty sure that I wont make it that far.

I am guessing that tire options across OK and into southern CO are slim so I was hoping to see about doing something tomorrow near Fayetteville. I am going to call Freedom Powersports later today but I wanted to get any other suggestions of places to look. Also ... do any of you Tenere riders have a 150 70 70 rear that is decently dirt oriented stashed for the next tire change that you could sell me on the fly?

I am Byrds so no cell service. I am using their WiFi today on a layover so I can check in here periodically. Or a faster way is to email directly - trikepilot at gmail. Thanks in advance for any help you ya'll can provide.

If you can contact Dr.Lewal on Adv rider, he or one of the others in the group will help. Find Dr.Lewal on the heading "Regional Forums" tejas and the gulf states. The good Dr. and friends help the slap rally at Byrds in may. The Dr. is located in North West Arkansas.

Good Luck

+1 for Doc Lewal. Years ago when we did the TAT, we knew we were coming and knew a tree was down on Warloop Rd, so he cleared that for us, then met us at the Oark Store for lunch an road us around to see some sites.

here he is about 7 years ago in the Hi-Viz

we were able to get parts for a XT225 in Fort Smith at West Ark Yamaha also. They are closed today though

1400 mostly dirt miles in 4 days is a lot for most people. You rock!

Sorry to hear about the tire and looking forward to hearing how it comes out.

340 mile average per day in 90++ degree heat with my heavy right wrist was too much, obviously!!!

I have some ADVrider solutions in the works (not Dr lewal) but some others.

Thanks to all that chimed in. The last three days are up in my trip report over at ADV rider.
