Although I don't really have an interest in "Cruiser" bikes (other than solely for their mechanical presence), I do find this new model to be quite gorgeous..................the one without the ape-hangers.
The lines of this bike are just pleasing to look at.
Power levels should be quite a leap forward from where cruiser bikes currently are at this time.
I do see a couple of problems with it however.
First, the "Forward Controls" that are so desirable to the Cruiser-Crowd are absent. Not even seeing any place where they could be added.
Second, I imagine this engine's cylinders throwing a good amount of heat onto the rider's legs and feet..............Those that like to ride in flip-flops and shorts will have some toasted toes and shins.

26 inch inseam and below might consider this bike, if they're going to ride it that is. The funny part is Herman the German is usually not vertically challenged.

Amazing how much it looks like mine (or maybe not ;-)
This is a DKW RT 250/H from 1954 My father did a full restoration, and I inherited it after him.
250 ccm, 1 cylinder, 2 stroke (nice sound and smell ;) ), about 12 HP.
So if you drive about 55 m/h, and the highest gear (which is 3rd:eek:) not much other than the sound changes when you try to accelrate:D:D.
Eventually the speed will increase a little:cool:

No, a Tenere with side cases does though. That motor almost doesn't even look real, because of the covering. Not my cup of tea.

That is one good looking bike. I too have to wonder about cooking ones legs.

Saw the 1800 at the show in Columbus last year and it reminds me of the Triumph Rocket III in being so big.

I rode a friends' Rocket and the torque was fun but not much else appealed to me. Definitely a bike saying "look at me."

Footpeg for cruising, WHERE?
The aftermarket usually puts them on the ends of the valve covers as a fold out unit. And they will cost $300-400 a set, but people will still buy them.
