Hi guys.

After a few comments from other fellow riders from this region and some suggestions of a little ride/pub gathering of some sorts, I thought it would be better to create a topic for it.

Since a long weekend is coming how about we organize something?

For suggestions: Gold coast rockabilly festival is on in Coolangatta and the winter nats are on at Winston raceway.

I don't mind a bit of rockabilly... ::018:: been to a few over the years.

But I have one major drag... I've just sold my Strom, and I still don't have the STen... I called in to Team Moto Nerang today, they said maybe tomorrow, maybe Friday... if not then I doubt I'll see it before next week, Monday being a holiday. ::010::

If all the planets align, then I'll join you folks. Otherwise, another time...

Ups, we got ours from there last Saturday... so it might be our fault... ::)

HaHa... did it have 10 klms on the clock?? That was me.... ::001::

They tried hard to sell it to me, but I wanted a '14.

:) I think so... unless they had another '13 on the floor... I was happy with the ~3k off the price, plus what we wanted for our trade in.

Nice one mate,,, I had a guy come look over my 2010 y/day as he was looking at getting a 12/13 or new 14, pricing is a bit how ya doing up here as we don't have Yamaha dealer in Townsville but one a hour south in small country town or further to Mackay is a bigger one.

Would you mind sharing what accessories you got and on road price etc so we can compare notes and I will give this other fellow a comparison as a guide. He has a quote but with a few accessories as well.
Any info would be appreciated mate thanks

Hi Paul,

Rode her home this afternoon, 15 kms on the odo and I can tell I'm going to love this thing. It will take some getting used to, a lot different than my DL650.

I paid $21500 on road, a price I got from an inmate here who bought his from Brisbane. That must be the price because they stonewalled me until I hit that magic number and then they jumped right in.
On top of that I paid $1370 for the panniers fitted (about $1700 and fit it yourself from Y-Shop) and a headlight protector they threw in for free.

Far out, this is ridiculous!!!!!
I'm sitting at work this whole weekend - like WTF ???? :'(
I really hope I can get to the next ride - This area we live in is brilliant for riding.....

Well, I only took a few...





despite my best efforts to keep the new bike pristine today, I got a little side-tracked out the back of Kyogle and ended up on the SF roads... this bike does gravel way better than the Strom ever did!
