I wonder how many tree huggers have remote start on their vehicles. I know of two. They both thought it was ok for their cars to just sit there and idle . . . . not going anywhere while adding to the greenhouse gasses. Like I've said, people are just a super small percentage of the issue. But a hypocrite is a hypocrite.

I have seen where KTM is selling the bikes with full electronics working then after a trial period they shut it all down and if you want all the features you have to go back and pay for the software to get it all working again. I am just waiting for not only bikes but cars as well to sell you a vehicle and then charge you a monthly or annual subscription to keep it right and all the features working. I can see it coming. Tractor manufacturer's already say they own the software in the tractor you bought and are making some extreme expenses for farmers trying to keep them running. I hear Harley is looking into doing something similar. Corporate greed is rampant. Hope that doesn't happen but it is on the way.
I read recently that BMW is doing this, or at least the auto side of the family is. I don't know the details, don't own one of their cars, either.

A little quicker??!!! Holy Crap! Very hard to imagine, but doesn't help with the anticipation I'm already feeling about the 890.
Quicker not faster the 1290 will beat it top end. 0-60 the 890 is quicker. You're not trading the SAS in on the 890 are you? I thought the 890 was replacing a 690?

The SAS is not leaving the fleet. Can't even imagine the bike that can replace the SAS. I'm just shocked at the idea anything could be quicker in any phase of flight.

Go buy a new Toyota: OEM remote start works for 90 days and then ceases unless you pay the $8/mo subscription fee. Been this way for a few years now...and seems to be a direction everything is heading.
GM/Chevy has done that for 6+ years with Onstar, you know, the service promoted as satellite service, which is true for navigation, but all communications depends on Verizon cell service (believe they have since gone to ATT).

Back on subject, I know the 901 is more "road" than the 890, did they change the gearing in the tranny, or sprockets?

The 890 and 901 are mechanically the same. Not sure the 901 is more road. As I understand it it is between the 890 Adventure and the R as far as suspension and off road capability but definitely more "upscale" than either in comfort.

I saw some pictures of the '23 890 R and WOW!!! That is a good looking bike. It's as if the morphed the 901 and 890R together. I think it's the best looking of the 3 and that's coming from a guy that owns the other 2!

My heated grips and required hcu finally arrived and are on the Norden. Now I can keep riding until they salt the roads! Life just got better!
