Hey chris, wich softbags do you use? And are they waterproof without innerbags or raincovers? I’m stil looking for good softbags that go easily on and off.

thanx
Stefan
Hi there Stephan, I’m running the Mosko Moto stuff. Mine slide on and off panniers racks quickly. Another member here has a really nice Mosko Moto rackless setup that is really sweet.

Thanks Chris,

I will look into them, I run the OEM cases so will probably go with the rackless setup.

cheers,
Stefan

I have 3 or 4 classic Marsee magnetic tank bags that I've used regularly.

The monster when I was doing an extended road trip. Sportbikes really had no better solutions in the 90's..

Something this size (or even smaller) for daily use. Main items I like to keep in this, a bottle of water, small can of Honda polish and rag, cell phone and what I've termed my Road Crime Camera - a standalone 4 megapixel camera which I can use while riding to get fun shots like the ones at the bottom of this post

Almost forgot, this is probably my favorite one - a 1 liter sized tank "pod" which Marsee made back in the day. It's not just cordura, all sides are formed and rigid to a degree so it retains it's shape. I bought several of them on a lark and then designed and welded a mount out of stainless steel for an Aprilia Caponord.

I need to find the extras and see what I can put together for the Super Tenere.

Now that my bike is a road queen I have been able to ditch a lot of extra "just in case" stuff.

Ive come up with a couple of different takes on tank bags....both smaller than my Kappa large TankLock quick release bag...& both under $50 with Givi latch

The Pelican 1150 is the waterproof option & fits the Givi ZT480R latch assy perfectly

The Caseling/Casematix moulded foam cases are slightly lighter & avail in many sizes with or without partition. Still fits the Givi latch too

I orig started with some T-Bags cruiser bags because they looked pretty nice...but they were too long for the Tenere tank. Fit fine on the Strom though20200608_092752.jpg20200608_092804.jpg20200608_092744.jpg20200608_092601.jpg20200608_092551.jpg20200608_092225.jpg

That's pretty slick. I have my Pelican 1150 mounted on the tail with my tools.

And now my handlebar bag for easy to grab stuff.

I've been using a Pelican 1300 with Cortech mount for several years with no problem. It looks a little funky but it's very functional, watertight, and easily removable. I also ride on my pegs quite a bit and it hasn't been in the way for me.

Foot peg pin. I switched back to OEM pegs because the aftermarket ones can cause frame damage.
