Wow, hard to imagine so much damage from something that didn't even dismount you. Think a set of crash bars coulda stopped most of it?

Good for you having the ride back. Its gotta feel good. Just got my 21 a month ago and trying to ride every day, but nowhere near your range.

Crash bars would have likely saved the bike.

I would think that anything that bends the frame, would totally crumple a crashbar.

25,195/changed rear pads as I made a habit of using the rear break more than the front for some reason/3 October 2021 . . . .
Is that the first time for the rear set?

I tend to think you're right. I'm at a little more than 15k, and they're guestimating half way on my rear pads; front look brand new. Obviously, the more highway miles a person rides, the longer the pads will last. I almost use my fronts exclusively. Yes, I know the rears activate with the fronts. And, I really use the engine compression. So, I'm curious how long the pads will last; front & rear. The RT's front lasted well over 50k miles, and they got abused; 10k for the rear. Whereas the ST's only lasted 5k; front & rear. o_O

All pads used were OE.

28,159/did oil (switched to synthetic) and final drive oil as well/18 December 2021

How long have some of you gone between changes with synthetic oil? I don't want to start the war on what oil you all use haha, just wondering as I've been running conventional Yamalube since new and changing every 4,000 miles.

I go 5000 miles…..anyplace other than the USA had 6000 mile changes compared to our 4000 mile service. Just seems to be a good compromise.
