Good afternoon,
I have been lurking for a while now so thought it only polite to introduce myself. I am Richard from a small place near Leeds, England.

I have held my bike licence for many years, but due to kids growing up I haven't owned a bike for around 7 years (last bike VFR750) I recently had the pleasure of using CRF250's through work for a while and it has set the biking juices flowing again and the time is coning to get back on 2 wheels - hoping to buy in the next few months.
The options i am torn between are 800GS or an S10, the bike will be used for commuting and weekends away, hopefully progressing to tours around England and then Europe.

please be warned there may be a flurry of questions (i will use search option first) ;D

Thanks for reading

Richard

Welcome aboard and thanks for using search before starting threads.
Be sure to look into the number of problems that folks are experiencing with the 800s, including stators, regulators, forks, shocks, etc. My brother wanted one and found the 800 Triumph made more sense.

Hi there Wispy, Dave from huddersfield here.
S10 and BMW are two completly different bikes. S10 has more bulk and presence, BM is perhaps a little more agile due to it being a bit lighter. One suggestion however, if you find you prefer the BM then explore the possiblity of a Yamaha TDM900. Vastly under rated and you should be able to get a bargain on a new one due to them recently being discontinued
