I can’t get in with basecamp so I use MyRoutes app to plan the trip and then upload it onto my garmin. MyRoutes lets you share your routes with others too but it’s so much easier to use and it uses HERE mapping which is just nice to read

I am looking at the Zumo XT and noticed today Garmin is knocking $100 off the price. ($499 down to $399) There was no discount when I looked at their site a couple weeks ago.

I highly recommend Jump on that $100 off deal !
I have been an XT owner for almost a year, it’s on my Goldwing. On the Tenere I have Zumo 595 and in my opinion the XT is a much better GPS. Much easier to read screen in any conditions.

I’ve asked this question over on ADVRider but I thought I would also ask the collective here. Is there a video out there on installing/wiring up the Zumo XT? I’ve figured it out via a direct attachment to the battery but surely there’s a way to wire it up without having it “hot” all the time. Thanks in advance.

You got your directions over there, so I think you'll do ok.

Just bought the XT in UK £374 shipped, they were £429, so I'm guessing they'll go down from here.
Just bought the Ram mount to go on the 12mm bar as I'm far happier taking it off the bike than trusting the Touratech lock (it resembles the type of lock my parents put on the telephone when we were teenagers, I'm sure this one's much better, but still, 5 seconds to get into it).
This, and any attempt from a would-be thief to attempt to yank it off.
The Doris is making a bag for it on her sewing machine.
