Hi all, I had the XT on charge for over 8 hours, it has been in standby all that time, charger is at least 2amp, maybe 3amp.
How would I know if it's fully charged?
The green battery symbol isn't completely filled with green when I pull out the charging plug, just mostly green.
Is there any way to check charge amount?
Looked at all the vids and Garmin's website but no info to help.
When it arrived it was virtually dead of battery power, worried now that cells are exhausted.

There is no way to show the percentage of the amount of battery you have, like a phone. Just figure if the battery symbol is all green, it is recharged. I couldn't tell you how long it takes to completely recharge, as the mount on my bike is live, so it is always connected to an electrical source, but 8 hours doesn't seem unreasonable with it in the standby mode from dead. As far as I know, with it plugged in, and in the stand-by mode, it is running everything, unlike the stand-by mode without being hooked up to power.

Turn it off, and leave it plugged in overnight, if it isn't fully charged the next morning, than I would be wondering about the battery.

Apparently there is Mark, if you put your finger on the battery symbol for 5-10 seconds, all manner of information comes up, including battery percentages and voltages.

That.....is a cool easter egg! Looks like there's some testing functionality and other stuff there too, thanks for passing that nugget along.

Thanks, learn something new. Makes sense, as putting your finger on the upper left corner switches between auto and motorcycle mode.

I have a question unrelated to the charging issue.. and that is, when playing music from an SD card, there is a Browse option where you can have the XT list your music by Song, Album, Artist and so forth. When you do that, the alphabet shows up underneath your selection, I imagine the idea is that if you click on a letter, then your albusm or artists or sings scroll to those that start with that letter.

Does that work for anyone ? Its not doing anything at all for me and I have a lot of albums/sings so its quite tedious to have to manually scroll to the thing I want to hear

That works for me, click browse then all, then album and pick a letter.
