Hey everybody,

I just moved to the great state of texas and living on the South East side of Houston. I just could not stand those crapy Florida beaches any longer, and had to get out of there ??? anyway I'm looking forward to the endless miles of dirt roads you have here in Texas, and Ill be seeing Y'all real soon!

Welcome to Texas, If you like it in Houston, you will love it in the Hill Country. That's where all the good roads are, dirt or pavement. North of San Antonio and West of Austin. Its a little over 3 hours away, but well worth it.

Tired of those lousy Florida beaches . . . ::008:: . . . me too, I am getting ready to move to Texas also. Will be in the Houston area on a few weeks to start looking for a rental.

Awesome, and good luck on your rental search. Mine was a headache and took me about 11 days to find a place once i got here. There are three of us that I know for sure here in the Houston area, and we all live south of the city. Give us a checkin when you get here.

I'm not new to Houston, but I am back after a 3.5yr hiatus. I'm inside the loop. Took the S10 to the Bolivar last month and up towards Navasota this past weekend. I'm looking for people to ride with and places to go.

I spent a year in Houston but discovered Texas years later. Big Bend is a must. Also Guadeloupe National Forest. The hill county too. And for food do not hesitate to try the Mexican food found in the little roadside kiosks and hole in the wall restaurants.

Hi all, I live close to Kansas City, MO & am going to be taking some vacation time after Christmas & plan to head south to do some riding. I was thinking about New Mexico/Arizona, so I posted in the Southwest region forum asking for ideas on places to ride & got suggestions about the Texas hill country

I've been looking at some places & have a tentative plan to load the bike on my toyhauler RV & am going to check out some campgrounds in the area of Wimberly, TX. I see there is a road called the devil's backbone that looks like a good one. Just thought I'd check in here to see what other rides you'all know about. Not quite sure of the dates yet, but will probably be 1st/2nd week of Jan. & if anyone wants to go riding, that would be cool too... :) Thanks,
Wayne K.

I'm now officially planning to go to the gathering in Ouray, CO in June. Anyone want to caravan up?
Right now my tentative plans are to leave Houston early on the 22nd and arrive late afternoon of the 23rd. The only part of that ride that is planned at the moment is riding in on the Million Dollar Highway on the second day. I'm game to caravan with anybody that wants to head up there, but its not a race to me. I plan to relax and take my time and enjoy the ride. If you are interested, I will let you know my planned route as the time gets closer. Most likely, to make it in two days its going to be mostly slab until we get to 550.

I was planning 2-3 days. I'm down to hammer pavement on Day 1. I was kinda thinking of making it 3 days going and 2 returning. Then I could hit the mountains in CO on the way and see the sights. Going home is always a grind.
