I finally got a Super Tenere! I have been wanting one for too long, and I have to say I am not disappointed! I am located in Birmingham AL if anyone else on here is close by.

Does anyone know what brand the Crash bars are and the side paniers? I can't find any branding just curios.

Also is it normal to get high 20's mpg around town? I do not drive super hard, shifting around 5k RPM most of the time. I know these bikes are not known to be super fuel efficient, but getting 27-29mps seems a bit low.

Welcome from Texas. Congrats on your new ride. I've never seen those bars before, but there's a lot of knowledge here so others will likely be able to help. You're right about the mileage. That seems low. But, you're shifting w-a-a-a-a-y to high, and that could be the cause. Common when you're coming from an inline 4cyl. With the torque she has, I rarely hit 3k when I shift. I've also noticed that even on the highway, as long as I keep the rpms below 4k, I get 44mpg-ish. The equates to about 72-73mph. If I keep the speed below 65mph, she'll get 50mpg. If you do a lot of highway with the bags on her, the mileage will drop.

Well, show me a picture of your crash bars....I sold my Tenere, but I got an average of 5 lites per 100 kilometers.
Translation about 45 miles per gallon.
For its weight and size, the Tenere is quite fuel efficient.
I have a Zuki DR650 and it's pig on gas considering it's about half the weight of a Tenere and about 2/3 rd or 66% of the performance of the Tenere.
Bottom line, it largely depends on how fast you want to ride.
High speeds = disproportionate fuel burns . Exactly like airplanes.
Drag and the power required to sustain higher speeds (90 mph) = greatly reduced range = running out of gas on the roadside.

Welcome @rakhan . Nice bike, those look like Happy Trails Bars and Panniers to me. I've been shopping around for bars for a while now. Could be wrong!

Birmingham huh? Roll Tide! I'm from Westover originally but now live in north Idaho! Enjoy your bike!

Is the Barber Museum still a 'goin??
If y'all wanna see a great collection of motorcycles, then the Barber Museum just east of Birmingham Alabama on I-20 is definitely worth a visit.

I came from a ST1300. I had to relearn when to up shift, and down shift. She has enough compression that if you're downshifting at 5k, you're locking up, and sliding the rear tire. So, shift earlier for mileage, shift later for fun. She doesn't mind shifting later, she just gets a little thirstier. 'Cuz, she does a great impression of a sport bike too.

Welcome aboard from the Netherlands, sierra1 is right about the rpm. I ride on torque not on horsepower. Doing around 20km’s on a liter. No idea on the panniers and can’t see the crashbars very well. Maybe share a close-up? Enjoy the ride!

Welcome!
From Colorado.
I typically get high-40's mpg around town.
Been known to get around 50 on occasion.
