I "think" that his question is "are you capable" to change positions from high to low; is the factory seat adjustment hardware still attached or transferred over? I am ASSUMING that it depends. If the original seat pan is used/recovered, then yes adjustment is retained. The seat from Brazil appears to be a new/different seat pan without adjustment hardware.

So I have a question about all these after market seats, do they have to be set in the low position or can you interchange between low/high?
My seat was built up on the stock base, so yes, it's adjustable from hi to lo position. Also, the seat height itself did not change from stock.

This is a Terry's seat. It's nirvana. They have core seats so you can keep riding and not wait to get your seat back. Mine is the carbon fiber look with minimal stitching to keep down water leaks. Cost was $250. I can't beleive how much better it is than the seat concepts. The wrinkles you see were from the packing. It was fresh out of the box. They disappeared after a few days.
Looks great but without actually riding on one it’s hard to say how good it might be. Does this seat get rid of that stupid forward lean built into the stock Tenere seat ? If it wasn’t for the forward lean my stock seat would be great.

Getting the seat to sit flat is a very easy and cheap fix. Have a search for 'flat seat mod'

Short answer, yes. I used the flat seat mod on my stock seat (and it was a big improvement) , but I did not need it on Terry's seat.

I'm running a Moose Racing seat. They are a bit like hen's teeth, and didn't sell well at the original asking price. I picked one up for $200, new and trimmed the rear bumpers. It's good, well worth the asking price. But at $250 the seat from Terry is a screaming deal for all day comfort.

I ended up doing the seat mod on my Terry seat. The carbon look I got is super slick. After having the stock gripper seat torcher my ass. I decided to go the other way. If I had to do it over. I would get something with a little more traction. But no complaints.

Read the entire 17 page flat seat mod thread last fall and ordered the shorter bumpers, yes it seems to be a pretty decent improvement but so far I have put less than 1,000 miles on it so it’s a little early to say for sure.

I really wish I had known about Terry's seats before. I have the seat concepts and it was only a marginal improvement over stock. ::007::
the seat concepts is not that bad.. It's a vast improvement over the stock and has more meat stops the forward slide and is wider as well.
I do know i went through a couple pairs of jeans with the grip material they use, like sandpaper.
Now that i have the Sit&Fly seat cover PAULIBIKER is selling it's nice and cool.
Yes $250.00 for that Terry seat sure it's no Russel, but it's a screaming deal. I would try it if i had the extra cash, but it go's to Oil, Gas and tires!! ::26::

That is simply a matter of personal preference. Most of the reviews that I have seen coming from people who have the seat concepts kit, say it is only a marginal improvement. No one seems to ecstatic about it, especially if you already did the flat seat mod with your stock seat.

I have the seat concepts kit with gripper top and carbon fiber sides. I also have a sheep skin seat cover from Alaska leather. If I could do it all over again, I would have just kept the stock seat, did the flat seat mod and then installed the wool seat cover. The wool makes the seat comfortable to sit on year around and adds just the right amount of padding to the seat, without making you sit up much higher on seat. The sheep skin also wicks moisture away from your pants, wrings out easily if it gets soaked, requires no real care, is relatively inexpensive and not so cool looking that you have to worry about it being stolen if you leave it on your seat while your bike is unattended. I didn't mean to change the topic this much but felt it was worth a mention.

Being in TN I'm considering a Terry's seat. I had a RDL on my FJR which is super nice and prior to that a Corbin. The Corbin seat had stitching that felt like ropes after a while under my thighs. I see this same stitching on the Terry's, anyone notice this or have it bother you?

Currently I'm using a Gel-pad on the stock seat which is an improvement over just a sheepskin but it raises me a bit.

What I would like to do is shape my foam flatter and a bit lower, shape and width seem OK, but if I modify my foam then I may be screwed if I go with someone else who needs the stock foam as-is.

Don't hear much from https://www.billmayer-saddles.com/apps/galleryapp/gallery/bmw? Anyone uses his?
At one time I had a RickMayer on a R1150R, bought used, good shape but hard. Just about anything beats a stock seat...except maybe on a GW.

I just had a Bill Mayer seat fitted to my bike and my butt about 2 weeks ago. Their shop is here in Ventura where I live.

Can you send your seat in to get a Terry’s seat or do you have to go there to get fitted?

They sure look great and the price is even better!

Either one, give him a call or email, a very nice fellow. As of last week he's booked through Sept..
