I’m going to replace the plugs on my Ten soon. Has anyone tried E3 plugs? I’ve run them in all manner of bikes, chain saws, lawn mowers, and all my cars. I’ve never had one foul out or go bad in many years of use.

I’ve never had a plug of any type foul out since the days of two-stroke motorcycles back in the 70s.

I will be honest with you...... I spent alot of years putting in special plugs for folks..... Splitfires, Bosch platinums, etc..... I can honestly tell you no one felt the expense was worth it and alot ended up pulling the plugs because of issues. Just stick to stock IMHO. Especially considering the work to swap em. Id place a safe bet 99% install NGK & NDs in Teneres.

It happens all the time when jetting 4 stroke engines. When you retrofit a carb not meant for the bike your working on and have no starting point for any of the jets, wet plugs are quite common, especially if you have a malfunctioning starting enricher circuit.

I have a ZRX1200 that was jetted by the young guys at a large dealership. They put K&N pods and headers on it. It would foul them dead before the tank was empty. But It would haul ass. I called them and the mechanic said I wasn't riding it hard enough. I took it to another dealership and paid out the a$$ and it wasn't much better.. I will never have an airbox removed again. The guy that sold it to me put new plugs in it before I rode it. He knew. I finally got it rejetted myself. What a PITA. Carbs suck.

These days it’s pretty hard to get any measurable performance gains as the manufacturers seem to have things pretty well optimized compared to “back in the day”. Seems like you need to get into heavy mechanical mods to get real power gains, and even at that, reliability and drivability are often sacrificed.
