Just picked up a brand new 2017 Tenere (non ES) for $11.5k OTD. Will be breaking her in and then taking a trip to Death Valley in March.
Been researching S10s for some time, can’t wait to put some miles on this baby!
What oil do you CA guys run, 15/40?
Dave.

Welcome Super Dave! As far as oil ,I use Mobil 1 racing 4T 10W-40. Make sure check your rear gear oil level,go over the bike carefully, especially bolts that the dealer tightens during assembly, calipers, fork pinch bolts etc.... Been wanting to check out Death Valley for sometime, when you come back post some pictures for us. Have a BLAST!

I have a 2016 Tenere ES. Very happy with the bike. This is a good site for information on the bike. My only beef with the bike was the seat. It became uncomfortable for long rides. There are good suggestions on this site on how to change the seat angle by changing the under the seat rubber pads. Once I got that figured out. It was great. There are some good threads with pictures on how to make the modifications. I also use the Mobil 1 Racing oil as suggested by Paul466. I added an Alt-rider skid plate and crash bars. I changed the rear carrier to an after market carrier made out of steel. I had a top case mounted behind the seat and I hit a speed bump in a parking lot that snapped the plastic carrier. I had the mounting bracket for the top case mounted to the plastic carrier. Aside from that, it has been a great bike. I don't believe you will be disappointed.
