Hello,

I consider myself a pretty novice rider, but trying to ride every time i can to get some experience :) on my adventure bike.

Did the test drive on the bmw GS 1200, ktm 1290 super adventure and honda africa twin, but since im a very short rider (1,67m or 5.47 feet) the Super tenere was the one i felt more comfortable ridding, and i really love how it handles.

I have a bit of experience on motocross, i had a yamaha yz 125 and a honda cr 125, and i was a challenge since im very short lol. I had a suzuki GSRX 600 and a Honda XT 600e, but i now i want a bike to travel around Europe and in 2 years to go to africa :).

It´s a Super Tenere from 2017, the ES model, got a pretty nice deal from a oficial yamaha dealer, it only has 7500km(4660 miles), and it feels pretty new.

Here are some pictures :)

Thinking on going to Italy next year, going to do 10000km+, passing on the Alpes :).

Good Riding to you guys :)

Welcome from Texas. I notice that apparently Yamaha has different OE boxes for different places; top case looks the same. I don't guess there's any chance that THOSE boxes have the same mounting hardware.

There are two types of boxes that they sell in Portugal (oficial yamaha), the rectangle ones and this ones. I preferred this ones since the carry capacity is more, and they look more robust. Also this ones have place to put straps for camping gear (the locking mechanism works great). And yes the mounting hardware is the same, at least it was what the dealer told me.
And thank you :)

I wholeheartedly agree. I've seen them on the Raid Edition, but I didn't know they could be retrofitted. Hmmmm….

Welcome aboard Miro.

It seems that the T12 are becoming increasingly popular in Portugal. I hope to see some when I visit in the spring.

Cheers T
