Be easy on me...been riding a Victory Cross Country Tour that I bought new in 2012 (now with 60K miles). Bought my 2015 S10 three weeks ago specifically for a planned trip to Alaska next year (now bumped to '23). So I'm going to own this S10 for awhile...and I'm liking it a lot.
Bought it in Boston requiring a fly-n-ride home. Rode great. I DO need a new seat.
I know there's dozens of options, as I've been researching for my Victory and just haven't pulled the trigger. The previous owner of my S10 had a mod done...and just doesn't seem to fit my arse as well as it apparently fit his. I'm inseam challenged (30") so I can't go any higher. Been thinking about putting a lowering link so I might have some room to play with on seat height.
Looking for any and all suggestions. Would like to go Russell Day Long, but they say they'll put me 1-2" higher and that's a deal killer.
Any other farckles I need to add?

First, welcome from metro Seattle and congrats on the new (to you) Tenere!

You'll get many, many opinions on seats, windshields, tires...you get the point. I'm inseam challenged as well. I have a Laam seat which I did with a ride in appointment. Front is narrowed slightly to give me a little better reach to the ground. Kinda works, but still on tip-toes most of the time. Doesn't help that I also have a Penske shock with increased ride height. Agree that a RDL will raise you up...a lot. Check out Seat Concepts and see what offerings they have to give a better reach. Last thing I would do is lower the bike.

Good luck with your AK trip. I've been up several times on both Tenere's and FJRs. No matter where you're going it's a great trip and well worth the time and $$$.

Welcome aboard! glad to hear you like the bike, seats are a pain for me too. I've got the touratechs, it's better not perfect. Others here absolutely love them, so it's very personal.

From The Netherlands,
Stefan.
