Just wanted to introduce myself. Ryan here. I just bought a 2015 S10 non-es model in red. I've been riding bikes since I was 16. Most recently I had a very heavily farkled 2004 Vstrom 650 that I rode since 2008. I've done research for years and I'm finally excited to own a S10. I've only ridden her 300 miles so far. Did a fly n ride situation. Great bike.

Already I've ordered a bunch of new parts. So far it includes: arrow headers, madstad windshield system with 22 inch windshield, happy trails Denali panniers, mirror extenders, grip puppies, bulb cap extenders, T-Rex racing crash bar/skid plate combo, winglets, and I plan to pull my ECU to send it off for a flash.

Still need to decide who to do the flash. I appreciate all the great information everyone provides here. I'll try to keep everyone updated on my Tenere adventures. Thank you

Welcome aboard!

I rode a 02 DL 1000 and moved to a red 2015 some years ago. I really liked the Strom but have ZERO regrets moving to the Super T

I almost bought a 2020 1050 XT. The 300 mile ride home with bike in stock form I wondered if I should have went with the Strom. I definitely not the biggest fan of the bikes stock power delivery. Motor is smooth in touring, super jumpy in sport. I feel like my modded Vstrom 650 power delivery had more torque. But I'm confident that mods mainly the ECU flash can fix that. Bike is definitely not slow just in stock form the power delivery is......to me not as it should be. But I do love the balance of the bike, weight definitely feels low and she handles curves great. I need to work thru some ergonomics for me. I'm trying to decide on handlebar risers and looking for an option to lower pegs just a bit. Another must for me is getting a new seat. I'm 6ft, about 270 lbs, stock seat was not comfortable. I'm leaning towards a RDL seat but hate sending in my seat and not being able to ride.......I may try to find a cheap used factory seat so I can send it in while I ride.
