Since everybody seems to be asking for pictures of panniers, I created a media album specifically for those pictures. I'd ask if you have a shot of your luggage, upload it there so we can have all the different types in one spot to make it easy for folks to browse.

Here is a link:

If anybody needs help uploading let me know, in general you just go into the album and click "Add an Item to this Album." I ask that you at a minimum fill out the title and description so people know what kind of luggage it is (Brand, model, etc).

Thanks!

descriptions of the pics would be nice - just a thought
Agree, that's why I wrote "I ask that you at a minimum fill out the title and description so people know what kind of luggage it is (Brand, model, etc)." above.

Adding descriptions also makes the pictures key-word searchable.

I think the mods database works really well for this and would hope folks would still post up their panniers (and all other stuff) in there, too. I put the factory side cases in the database and then added a comment with my photos and install observations. Since then fender5803 added a comment with his observations on the cases.

The mods database is a great idea and really well set up imo. There are a lot of great mods discussed on the main board...including some cool mods to mods (plugugly's decals on his jesse's for instance). It would be nice if all that good stuff found its way into the database. The only problem I had with the database is that you can't edit it. You'll see in the side case submission that I doubled one of the photos, submitted it and then couldn't change it out for the photo I'd intended to put in there.

I really like your write up on the side cases.. Very nice and well thought out.
If you can't delete the one pic, maybe a mod can for you. I would have thought the poster would have edit power..
Anyway, nice work..

Darn, I see what you mean about not being able to edit. I never built edit capability into the comments, only delete capability. Honestly, I never thought the comments would be used like that, but it makes sense... I'll see what I can do.

I think that the database would work great using the comments for all the good installation and photo details. It's also different than the member's garage idea we were bantering around the other day. I wouldn't think all that detail would be necessary in garages.

The edit thing would definitely be helpful. I just noticed another mistake I made in the factory case install. I said a T-50 Torx bit was needed, but it's a T-50 Security Torx bit that's needed...minor point. :) I added another comment to disclose that mistake.
