Ok. I am currently working on that. It will accommodate a full length piece that will extend over the seat as an option. I will have a full update shortly and will keep you posted posted.

Another thing to note, or at least make sure folks are aware of, is aftermarket seats. I have been looking into getting a seat concepts seat and noticed in some pics the rear seat is a bit wider and higher. Folks with an aftermarket rear seat might have a fit,net issue with you rack.

Just something to keep in mind, and a free thread bump for you!

I'd like to see a version that takes the place of a pillion rack and rear rack both..so it would sit lower on the bike...i do like the idea of being able to fit a rotopax under it or anything else you can squeeze in there. maybe one where you could attach a butt rest so you don't slide back on the seat or something....Us S10 guys just want it all!!..lol I'll keep checking back on this! Good luck!

Update:
I am working on the shorter version of the rack. It will not cover the passenger seat, but I am also working on a bolt up extension for those who might want to extend it over the seat. It will also be offered in "raw" or powder coated finish. It is taking a little longer than I hoped but hope to have something in the next week or so. I really appreciate everyone's patience.

Well, it's taken a little time to get this almost done, but here are a couple of pictures of the revised rack. It is a single rack, with provisions to attach an extended top piece if desired. This one should be completed next week, and I will have prices by then as well if anyone is interested in one.

No, you do not have to remove the main rack in order to attach or detach the longer rack. This version is also all 1/4 plate as opposed to the earlier version being partly 3/16 plate.

Update:

It still needs to be welded out as whats shown here is just tacked. The black screws fastening the 2 plates together are temporary and only for test fitment. The final ones will be stainless steel. As stated in a previous post, all plate is now 1/4 inch thick. I would recommend for those who stated they might want one in raw aluminum, unless you are planning on your own finish, I would really consider a powder coated one as I belive the raw aluminum will oxidize.

Hopefully I will have this completed and finalize the pricing by this weekend.

Hope you like it.

I am told by my powder coater that it should be done today. I am also trying to lock down final pricing. I appreciate your patience, this shouldn't have taken this long.

Here is the "final" version. If this thing catches on there may be subtle changes moving forward, but this is pretty much it. Both racks together weigh in at 11 pounds. I will probably be including four nylon washers with the top piece, to place between the 2 racks, but I haven't purchased them yet and wanted to get this posted. Everything is now 1/4 inch plate, and some reinforcing has been added to the underside of the short rack as you can see in one of the pictures. I will sell these "un-powder coated" if that is what someone wants, but I think the aluminum will end up oxidizing so I wouldn't recommend that. Powder coat prices are for silver or dark grey.

Prices include all hardware.

Short rack raw - $230.
Short rack powder coated - $260.
Top rack raw - $95.
Top rack powder coated - $125.
Both racks together raw - $320.
Both racks together powder coated - $380.

I would prefer to make this in "batches" of a minimum of 5. After I get 5 orders together lead time is 2 to 3 weeks.

Shipping. At this point, until I see how this develops, I think actual shipping costs on a per sale basis would be best. I would prefer to not ship out of the US at this time.

I'm sure I am leaving something out, so please feel free to PM me if you have any further questions.

FYI. I took the first version on a 2300 mile trip in June and it worked out flawlessly.
