I posted an intro over in the intro section but figured I would throw up a hello here too. This section seems a tad slow. Is it just because it's winter or not many Tenere owners in New England? ::017::

Hey Mike,

I count about 15 S10 riders here across the NE States.

Yeah, I think the NE riders are a pretty independent bunch, it may have to do w/ the changing wx and short seasons, for myself I'll ride wherever and whenever I get a chance right up till the last good wx b4 snow/salt.

We sure a have some excellent terrain here for the DS Tenere. I'm in Central MA and I do an annual 2-day ride up thru NH to the Canadian border, camping and on as much gravel as possible. I do another annual 2-3 day ride up thru VT to the Canadian border, using much of the PDR, so lots of gravel and I include all of the famous VT Gap-roads. I can ride almost any time during the week and do so solo DS, and I ride every Sunday w/ a friend 2-300 miles(typically western MA, NH, VT) when the wx allows, that's mostly on tarmac. I've recently ridden 8k miles xc, and have numerous 2300 mile rides NE to/from FL including the TET and the BRP. On my bucket list I'd love to do the TCAT(Newfoundland to Vancouver), another full on xc trip and a trip to AK, also would love to ride across EU and NZ. :p

Appreciate you tryin to hook us up for a ride in the Spring, I think it'd be great to get the NE S10 riders together, I'm sure everyone's got some favorite terrain to share and I'd love to do the same.

Cheers man, dean ::001::

I'd be up for meeting for a ride. I bought my s10 to replace my FJR as my touring rig and have PR3 tires so my off road is limited to dirt roads or dry tractor trails. Don't ride it as much as I like as most riding is on scooters with my wife or track days on my supermoto. I do however make one ride a year, usually WV-TN area. Next year maybe do Quebec or the Gaspe loop.

Howdy,
I'm up for a get together/ride of NE Tenere's. Also Dean, I work a w/e schedule so I'm available to ride Mon. thru Thurs. each week. Maybe we can do some riding together. Not sure on this season though I am headed out for a ride today and keep the bike on the road year round so I can take advantage of the weather. I camp and have been looking at the Puppy Dog for a ride next year. Went down to WV last Aug. and have either that or Ark. on my "to think about" list. Great people and roads in the WV area.
Later,
Norm

Gentlemen, nice to see the traffic/response here; Mike you may have started a real monster w/ this so whatever may develop it's ur fault amigo. ::003::

Hey, how Funny that you guys have all mentioned WV-TN-AR as great places to ride. I agree and would travel there anytime, I've had some great trips to/thru there. I camped out in One of the craziest storms in WV one time coming back up from FL, I was following the Appalachian Trail on the TET on dirt and camped out on a mtn top, the thunder, rain, wind and lightning was just unreal, me in my little tent in the deep woods, in the middle of nowhere, solo. The cracks of thunder were so loud and the lightning so bright and intense I really thought I may have made my last big booboo. Booboo in my pants is what it was, man what a fright/what a night. The gully-wash beside the tent in the morning, good thing I had the K60s on the bike.

Chris, I'd love to get some time up into Canada, Quebec, NFLND... I took an awesome ride up thru the Adirondacks this summer, my first time way up there, what a treat, great roads, scenery and lots of gravel up there if u like that, included a nice little early morning ferry crossing on Champlain. I went out to Buffalo to visit an old Army buddy, took a back road route thru the finger lakes on the way out and rode as close right up along the Great Lakes as I could on the way back; got some real nice time in the Adirondacks both out and back.

Aaaanny way, would love to get out and meet you guys and any other S10 riders here in NE, share the road, trails, campfires...

Norm, unfortunately I took the ST off the road Dec 1(insurance, plate, battery...)-after the first good amt of salt they dropped all over here, didn't take it to winter down in FL this yr. I can put it back on anytime and will look for the first Spring day where there's been some decent rain to wash away the salt. Would love to get out there w/ u.

I have a ton of .gpx/.gdb files for my Garmin I can share. On any given day th mc usually seems to find a place to eat lunch and then a place to get an ice cream. Twisty tarmac always fun, and interesting gravel adventurous. It's amazing how many people still live on dirt roads all over NE, and how many miles of em there are out there. And moose, and black bear and turkeys and bald eagles...

Would love to hear where you guys like to go in NE, WV, TN, AR ... Seems there are some great traditional/favorite/annual routes/rides folks keep close.

Cheers, dean ::001::

Arkansas 2014 rally ??

Guys, Is it just me getting old or was there a thread here about a 2014 rally in Arkansas? I would swear that I was reading about an effort to plan/organize such a 2014 event not more than several weeks ago on here, and I can no longer find that. I do see the thread started by Tobasco(http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=9961.0) to do some recon and take pictures of some of the possibilities for rides during a 2014 AR rally, but I can't seem to find the planning thread.

:question: :question:

Might be something some of us in NE can ride to together...

Cheers, dean ::001::

Hey Magilla, I'm a newbie around here too. Just got my S10 late last summer. I'd definitely be up for a ride at some point. My work schedule is kinda crazy during the fair weather months, but although it's a little erratic, I have plenty of time to ride. I'm in SE CT and ride regularly throughout most of the year. Usually in mid summer and late fall I get out for extended tours. Often these trips are down to the Appalachian mtns of W Va, Va, NC, and TN. Not sure yet where next summers trip will be.
I stick mostly to the paved roads, always looking for that next twisty stretch I haven't ridden yet.

Hi Jack,

Thanks for the welcome! I typically do a couple of 5+ day trips a year. Last year I did the Dutchess County NY area and the Adirondacks, Lake Placid, &Lake George. This upcoming year I have the Finger Lakes in June and Stowe VT in the fall.

Let's touchbase in the spring. ::008::

Hey Guys,
Sounds like "we've got a moment" going here! We should put together an e-mail list of NE riders. That way we can quickly communicate upcoming rides especially last minute ones. What do think? I'd be more than willing to maintain the list.
