Hello everybody. I was following this new dolomiti side cases on amazon and revzilla, I was thinking about this or the trekker monokey (I already have the rack from givi, foro monokey cases).

This new dolomiti (DLM36 (http://www.givi.es/maletas-laterales/Monokey/DLM36%20TREKKER%20DOLOMITI)) will come with the adapters to use your monokey rack (will change the lock on the rack) and they are aluminium. I saw good reviews. Its almost the same price of the plastic version.. sooo.

When I was still deciding the wild offer appear: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-dolomiti-36-liter-side-cases-351113

The cases with an scratch on the bottom! so almost 75$ off for an scratch that nobody will see (and I will do my scratch myself anyway...)

So I bought it, and I will receive they in 2 days, I will post pictures, lot of them and a review.

It arrived!

THey are ultra light. Like new.

Like always givi leaves the KEYS outside the case (so you can open the lock of course) but loose, so they end up scratching something. In my case I was lucky and they were sticked with the last part of the tape...

The adapters to change the lock on the rack were all loose inside one case... some scratches but I dont care, since I will do my own.

I attached some photos, sorry its night I just received it and wanted to share it with you guys.

It came with an extra lock so you can change it on your top case and have all same keys :) that is great.

Thanks for telling. Didn't know Givi had these.

Could you show a pic from the rear view? Wanna see the symmetry of the boxes. And if you can, please measure from box to box to see how wide these are when attached to the bike. I have a Kappa box that is Givi compatible and they are exactly 36 inches box to box when installed to the bike. I am looking to see if these comes in narrower.

Yes this model are supper new, like less than 2 month. The good thing about them is that you can use the standard monokey rack. Is supper easy change the adapter, So you can have 2 different pair of cases.

I will take more pictures and measure it for you. I didn't much last night, was super late.

I didn't put the top case, but I can say that the cap of the side case will hit the top case.... but will check and photo is.

Thanks for your comment.

Looked at these, but the website is not very clear, do the actual adapters that ft to the Monokey racks come with these or are they extra?

Well. I found a problem.

After I tried to put the cases, there was a milimetric difference that make imposible to secure the cases. I figured out that my racks (givi quick release) have a nipple that its a little shorter than the other. on the left side of the bike is the nipple on the right, and in the right side of the bike is the one of the left

I just removed the nipple, put a washer, and that is! everything after that fitted perfectly.

Attached the images of this.

The cases look pretty good. I wish these were around a couple of years ago before I tried the regular trekker and now the trekker outback. Could have some some money on racks. These cases also look like they would do a better job keeping out water vs. my set of outbacks that leaked by the bottom corners.

Those Dolomiti are an interesting opton, priced closer to the original Trekker than the Outback. It seems they wanted to make a more commuter friendly aluminum case with the built in handles. I wonder if they will come out with a 45 or 50 liter matching Dolomiti top box?

Hello guys! here more picture that I took minutes ago. Sorry about the rear picture, I got a flat tired on the bike and Its a little complicated to move (waiting for the new tires to arrive to take the wheels off and change them)

Notes: The left case will hit the top case (givi 46L) but you can move the cap and will open without problems. The other side will not hit the top case.

The lock its pretty the same as the "quick release" rack system. I don't love them but seems to be good.

If you want any particular photo, just ask

Have a great day guys

Oh, btw, you can take the upper part of the case out, just like in the outback series.

May be latter I will check the water resistant.

Hello... I have a 2016 ES, and am looking at the Dolomiti cases... I appreciate your input regarding fit with the top case... I have a Monokey 46 liter E 460 top case, and it looks like the side case lid would hit - I think on the right side. I like the Givi PL 2119 racks because they are narrower than others... I would like to know what the over width of the side cases is when installed.

Also, one main reason why I have not gotten side cases is that I am concerned about wind effects, as well as fuel economy. I have been using 2 large dry bags on the back seat, along with my Monokey top case - and, in trips all over the west I have had absolutely NO turbulence, and I am getting around 50 mpg on the highway. I must admit that one of my interests in side cases is appearance... those dry bags a bit Ugly...:)

I appreciate your feedback...

Thanks,

--John
