Hi my names Mitch, I pick up my 2019 ES tomorrow, won't be able to sleep tonight.
I've had a lot of bikes, too many to count, the last 2 which I traded were a 2018 Honda NC750X ( 21,000 klm ) used for shorter rides
and a 2016 Ktm 1290 SA ( 56,000 klm ) for long distance touring.
The leader of the opposition decreed that 1 Motorcycle would have to suffice, so a new 2019 ES will be in the garage.
I had a 2012 S10 and enjoyed it so my thoughts were a new ES should fit right in between the Ktm and the Honda and do all the rides I do.
Went to 5 Star Yamaha in Perth ( Great Dealer ) and low and behold they had 2019 ES demo with no Kays on the clock,
After a half hour test ride I have to say it really impressed me, all the power I need for passing triple road trains, the handling for the twisties in the hills near home
and the comfort, fuel range and all the electronics ( like the Ktm ) for long distance.
So a deal was made, the Ktm was dropped off today and the honda goes tomorrow when I pick my new Girl.
Looking forward to a great many happy Kilometers.

Mitch

congratulations on the brandnew Tenere !
Friend has a 2017 1290 KTM, it’s supposed to have way more power than Tenere but I rode it a few times and sure didn’t notice more horse power, his has a bunch of carb-engine-exhaust modifications so maybe it’s just messed up.

Welcome from Texas. Since you liked the '12, you should be more than satisfied with the '19.

Oh mate, you are gonna love it.
I've got a 2018 ES. Problem is, I live in Canada and can only ride seasonally.
April to October.
I'm green with envy as I'm sure you can ride year round.
We're going to Australia in February for about six weeks.
First time, looking forward to it.

SHUMBA No problem riding all year although it gets a bit chilly in winter, thats what heated grips are for.
I'll try to attach a climate chart for you.

Thanks for all the replies, if any of you want to know more about the Wild West ( the largest state in Aus, 11 times the size of Texas )
Please just ask.

Welcome aboard from Maryland in the US, which is almost the opposite side of the planet. Congrats on the new bike.
