New Tenere owner in Vancouver (Not BC) Washington (Not DC) ;D Just picked up a brand new 2016 standard model on Friday 13-July-2018 and have been enjoying the hell out of it every since. I used to do a lot of trail riding on a DRZ400e but then switched over to street riding, first a 2007 Suzuki C50T then I got a 2014 Harley Davidson Road King. Love that Road King and have put over 33,000 miles on it so far but there are a lot of places I want to ride that the King isn't well suited for so I started looking at adventure bikes. Of course I started out looking at the GS bikes but maintenance concerns steered me away from there, it seems that no matter how good of a mechanic you are you're going to have to take your bike to the dealer and it's going to cost you. It just seems like the BMW business model whats to make you depended on their services and if you're not interested in that then they're not interested in you. I just didn't like the feel of the dealership experience if that makes sense. Anyhow, then more I researched bikes then the more I like the Tenere so that is what I ended up getting.

Welcome to the forum. Nice shot of St Helens.

Just in case you haven't found it already, take a ride South on 205 to Clackamas 212, run East and head to Carver, following 224 all the way to Detroit reservoir. Nice ride that gets more scenic after Estacade, then it narrows to a forest road after the Ripplebrook Ranger Station. Ice cream in Detriot, then options for back home fast or slow.

I've done the Detroit Lake ride several times, it's actually and annual event for a group I ride with. I've always come back through Salem though so maybe this fall I'll go east and pick up 26.

Yes, there are a lot of good rides around this area and now that I have the Super "T" I don't have to stop when the road ends. I'll be doing a lot of exploring in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and maybe even take it on Hwy 20 from your neck of the woods over to Kettle Falls before the season ends. Thank you for making me feel welcome.
Just another picture posting test using a link this time.
