Hello Guys!!!

Im the proud owner of a new to me 2014 Super Tenere ES. Im coming from a 2015 FJ-09. I traded the 15 FJ out with 8.2K miles and picked this 14 Super Tenere ES up with only 5k miles. The previous owner hardly rode it and it came with zero mods done. Before i bought the FJ i was dead set on buying the tenere but coming from a cbr600rr and only being 5'4 i was intimidated by the ADV bike category thus i started with the 450lb FJ-09. Before i traded the FJ-09 out i ALMOST traded it on a used 2017 BMWR1200GS LC but after calculating the costs of trade in and adding all the Farkles needed i could not justify the fact that it would cost THE SAME as a new car, in addition my experience with Japanese bikes has been always positive and you hear the same thing about japaense cars although for cars i always purchase American vehicles myself. I completed my first camping solo trip on the FJ-09 riding from dallas to las vegas and stopping along the way. The FJ is really a good entry level bike with awesome styling cues and a beast of an engine. The only issue i mainly had with it was the way the rear sets were set back and the fact that the alternator could not accommodate much more than i had put on it. My Fiance rides with me and the FJ could not support two sets of heated gear while the Super Tenere does it with ease, in addition the super tenere is much more comfortable position wise and has a larger fuel tank. In addition on the FJ i had upgraded the suspension to a 50 click Nitron Hydraulic preload shock to accommodate switching from one to two up riding but the Super Tenere ES does this so much better while also adjusting the front forks too.

Cant wait to go on the next adventure with the SUPER T. Im LOVING it so far and couldn't be happier!!!

I am still waiting for my permanent tags to come in but so far ive added

-Altrider Upper and Lower Crash Bars
-Ricochet Skid Plate
-Cyclops LED lights
-Phillips LED parking lights
-Scorpio 900 Alarm (from FJ 09)
-TMPS system (from FJ 09)
-Lexian Alt Rider Lense
-Givi Outback Trekker Side Cases
-National Cycle V Stream Touring
-MRA Windshield Extender (from FJ 09)
-Back off License Plate light (from FJ 09)
-Alt Rider Fork Guards

Very nice video and congratulations on finding a very nice deal on a super low miles used Tenere ! ! have the touring VStream windshield on my 2013 Tenere and love it so might be putting one on the new 2018 Tenere ES coming home sometime next week. Notice you don’t have the Yamaha wind deflectors on your bike do you have anything to say about that ? I have the wind deflectors on my 13 and after doing a test ride on a new Tenere without them I decided I will put them on the new bike as they seem to make a very noticeable improvement.

Thank you guys. The Yamaha wind deflectors are on their way right now, hopefully they'll make it even more quiet than it already is.

Thank you for the warm wishes everyone! Those are speakers for a Bluetooth sound system. For the s10 I’m going to do a sound bar mounted on the NAV bar for a cleaner look

Have you tried a SENA, or a similar product. Music and intercom all wrapped into one; inside your helmet. You can even answer your phone with quality sound. Way easier, and probably cheaper. And, not tied to one single bike.

Yes we have the sena with the comm but the 1000 watt speakers are so loud the both of us (my fiancé and I) can listen to the same music and talk through the comms without having separate music (unless sena has enabled users to stream music from one device to two different helmets instead of one device to one helmet), also sometimes when we take a short ride around the block without our helmets (not advisable) we enjoy the breeze and listening to some tunes.

Hey... another welcome from DFW here!

Congrats on your new ride and holy crap... your credit card has to be bleeding from the upgrades already! ;)

Seriously... nice farkles and you are making an already capable bike, even more so. I like how you are taking your fiance into consideration as well when doing your upgrades. :)

I'm definitely going to be looking into the headlight upgrades you did.

Just posted my intro today as well: STFlyer's Intro (DFW)... hopefully you get some riding in now that the rain has hopefully subsided for a while here. ;)
