The Nelson Riggs stuff I've had was dissappointing. Collecting dust in the shed. Not for the long haul.
Like I said earlier, archaic straps and fasteners, heavy body bag material and likely bomb-proof, but I know there are better alternatives

Once you use RokStraps you'll never go back to rubber or elastic bungee cords. I used two of them to hold a 70 L back onto the back of my Vmax for 5500 miles through Canada in '16.
Oh, yes I did....just sayin.

Rok Straps are great ! Bought my first set back in 2007 for an Alaska trip, so far they have made 3 Alaska trips without any issues, these days I actually own two sets one set for each bike.
But I still occasionally use bungee cords.
