NOCO makes good products and if I was needing a new battery I would take a look at this. 500 amp battery with a five year warranty for $130 and you can buy direct from the manufacturer.

This will be my next battery, if either bike needs one.
I already have the "Genius-10" charger to go with them.

When I got to Three I got my Eastern Beaver PC 8. Talk about a A parasitic draw situation. I count 10 or 11 circuits that are live. That is to say not switched with the ignition.

I spent a lot of years working on Goldwings and this is how they roll. Nothing like going in to take a saddlebag off and finding a dozen lights wired in with ten feet of wire and no connections to unplug.

This wing rider doesn't roll that way. Please don't lump is all together. I too have seen spiderweb wiring messes on them and luckily I wasn't working on them either.

I'm due for a battery too. Procedure for charging lithium any different? My bikes are always on the tender if sitting more than three days.

Thanks, I read some conflicting information. I use battery tender plus units however they are all well over ten years old.

I have the Noco lithium on my tenere, cranks much better than any AGM/SLA battery. I have had one of their little 1 amp battery tenders with lithium capabilities so if its ever need I can charge, but that stated I ride somewhat enough to keep things charged.

The beauty of the lithium battery is that it’s low self discharge rate means you don’t have to (and probably shouldn’t) leave it on a tender at all. I left mine sit 3 months (knee replacement recovery) with a lithium Scorpion battery in it and it fired right up. That would never have worked with the OEM battery.

I only used a lithium specific charger when I initially bought the battery as Scorpion only ships them with 30% charged. I’ve not needed to use the charger/maintainer again in over 3 years.

I see AutoZone has these in stock locally at the same price. My cheapo battery cranks a little slow so giving this some consideration. I have a compatible charger already.

I pulled the trigger on the NOCO 14. Works/cranks great. The only issue is the substantial multi-positional posts don't allow the flanged positive post to fit like a normal terminal. I just flattened it out and tightened it down. The posts are actually threaded so there are no nuts to mess with. Because the posts are multi-positional, I trimmed and used the shipping terminal covers to insulate everything except the screw connection.

I charged it first on the MB1100 maintainer (powered by NOCO). Interestingly, I could not get the mode to light the Lithium light, even though it indicates it is a Lithium charger. Used the normal mode and it charged fine.

I wonder about the accuracy of those liguts, those lights indicated my Scorpian Lithium battery was fully charged when it arrived but it took the lithium charger 1-2 hours to show fully charged.
