There are a number of subjects to unpack here.
"...the title to this web site was still "Yamaha Super Tenere" and until Venture changes the title it would be nice if users still remember that."
Yes, this is - and is going to continue - to be the Super Tenere forum.
HOWEVER, notice that this sub-forum is titled "Other Bikes" so this discussion is being held in the place we created just for it. Game on in this section. Still glad you are here but feel free to not click on this thread if it bothers you so much.
I hope it's ok to reply on this thread from another thread, I just don't like bumping threads back to the top of the main page that I feel they should never be there in the first place.
It's too bad this Forum doesn't have a basement for threads that should never be on the main page. I can think of one that has nothing to do with motorcycles.
Checkswrecks, you always keep a cool head and reply intelligently no matter how much I irritate you.
You said if I don't like reading a thread then don't click on it, unfortunately when I turn on the computer and look at the motorcycle forums across the top of the browser, I don't like to read it so I end up clicking on a different forum more and more.
I think of the newbies that just got the new to them Bike of their dreams [Super Tenere] and coming to this forum and the first thing on the main page the click and read "how this bike has changed everything the think about riding and motorcycles and how great it is" then realize they are reading about another brand.
There was a time on this forum when a rider would get on here and try convincing us that ___ ___ ___ bike was superior, and members would join together, lock arms and hold off their attacks and the "BDBITW" would prevail.
Now days I doubt if most of the newbies even know what BDBITW even means.
It's well known that most of the old timers on this forum no longer, or very seldom anyway, come to this forum anymore. I realize we are getting old and a lot of them may have quit riding or moved to smaller bikes, but I still know quite a few that still ride Super Teneres , could they be like me and just don't like to read "IT" and end up clicking on another forum.
I realize times are a changing, but not for me, I'll continue to be the same and promote the Super Tenere. Oh well I guess that's just the way it is.
