Mine fell over in my driveway, sitting where it had sat before and has sat since, I still don't know how. I blame gravitational fluctuations that day. The crash bars did their job, bent the right passenger footpeg and scuffed the bar end. One of the things I really enjoy about owning an adv bike is that this stuff just adds character. It would have driven me nuts and eventually cost $500 to fix if it had been my old Sporty.

If this is officially going to be the Tenere on the ground thread, I'll start mine off with a picture of my son-in-laws bike on the ground. ::025::

First time it's been down in over 2 years of ownership. I blame it on the sand, ::009:: ... F@$&!ng sand. ::009:: I was going about 30 mph when I lost control, crossed the deep sand in the center of the road twice before the bike decided to ride off the trail ad toss me off. No damage. Can't even distinguish the new scratches from the ones already there from 2 years of bushwhacking.

K60 on the rear I hated this tire never felt planted.
Yes when this bike starts Convulsing in the thick stuff it is a bull riders dream.. ::010::
My bike is a little more forgiving with the 21" on the front but I loved it when it had the 18" on the rear with a full knobby.
But it started rubbing a hole into the crotch of the swing arm and kept cracking Excel rims at the spoke nipple base so had to switch to OEM 17". :-\

Well hell, if we're playing this game.

Bike hit the ground at the most dangerous speed for tip overs...0 MPH. I stopped and somehow did not keep it from hitting the ground moments later. That was the only time I've dropped any Tenere...so far. Still have many more opportunities in the future.

D.D. You need to practice more at dropping them. ::013::

I get to show you the downed pictures of my riding buddies before I show you any of me.
They don't get on here to catch me doing it.

when I saw the title of this tread I thought it was going to be much worse. One of the first things I noticed on this bike was the rather exposed cooling system (fan, radiator etc) on the left side. If it had fallen on that you'd have a lot more expensive things to deal with. Maybe that's the point of the fall: time to shop for some bars because the next time you may not be as lucky.....

Oh I get plenty of practice picking them up. The Tenere is still a good challenge for my 5'6" wife. I've picked up plenty of downed Teneres.

Took a whopping 2 days to drop mine right outside the garage ! Side stand sunk into soft gravel and over it went, luckily it's pretty easy to pick up, lots of sand-gravel on crash bars, saddlebag but no real damage.

Ive only dropped mine once in 15,000 miles. Loading it on a trailer.
Now that I have some crash bars and a skid plate, I'll be looking for more off-roading.
I'm pretty sure the drop ratio is going to climb.

I find picking a bike up quickly is much easier as you are still hyped on adrenalin. :)
Couldn't have said it better myself! The first time I dropped my S-10, I was so pissed off and embarrassed that I ran over to the bike, flipped the kill switch and lifted the big pig back up without even a struggle. I swear the bike weighed 10 pounds. I probably couldn't do it again that easy if I tried.

Did you need to flip the kill switch? It should switch off automatically when dropped.

Someone will chime in with the exact details, but the tip over sensor is not that sensitive, or waits 5-10 secs. The 3,,4,,,5,,, oh heck, the several times mine has fallen in dirt, I have had to kill it myself.
