I don't even have cruise control and have enjoyed the thread.
Yes, great forum. For many years now.

we have a great group of problem solvers here. Just as snake says, I also do not have cruise control but lots of things I have learnt.

I have cruise, on my new 2017 S10 (and first Yamaha), and have been afraid something like this, also would happen on mine. But I hope mine have the new switch :-0

My service is scheduled for Tues afternoon, for the BLC assembly replacement...

The package says "Genuine Yamaha Parts, 2BS-83980-00, D170529V".

That last looks suspiciously like a date code: 29 May 2017.

There's some white ink markings on the assembly too: "76 02", no idea what that means, prolly some inspection code.

You're probably right about the date code assumption. I still have the packaging from the same part that I replaced for a 2nd time months ago, and like yours my P/N# is exactly the same...but the last digits are 'D161208V'. I've still got my original in the new part bag.

Good luck in your fix!

Over 800 miles since the clutch switch replacement and still no malfunctions!

BLC switch assembly replaced today. Brake Light issue cleared up, and Cruise will enable, and stays engaged.

Refund was issued for the purchased part, and installed on a warranty repair service order.

I'm all set! Let the mileage build!

@mebgardner - Congrats! ::018::

Nice that they gave you the refund on the purchased part. I hope that's the end of your CC issues.

Crazy how something so small could cause so many headaches. Like others, very happy to see how this worked out. Yeah!!

Good to hear a solution. Hopefully Yamaha makes this a TSB so others, if they encounter the problem, will have a quicker fix.

Now, this was two different switches, right? A brake light switch and a clutch switch?

As the OP, my ultimate fix was the clutch switch.

I believe mebgardner's was the front brake switch.
