Our luggage set up from our New Years trip. Many firsts for us, first real trip on the Ténéré, first time riding fully loaded 2 up, first time going more than 8hrs of actual riding in one day.

It was the coldest trip we ever went on even tho it was to Sarasota, FL. Got home a few minutes ago and it was 29 degrees Fahrenheit. It was a definite test of will for us both.

Learned good stuff to remember for the next round tho.

Thanks for sharing all those things. I had to buy a diamond ring for the wife to get her to OK my bike purchase. Still, I am lucky. Have friends that can only dream of owning one but have wives that don't understand.

Turned 5000 miles today and had my first experience with mud. Glad I was riding solo. I need a new back tire also.
I'm looking at the kenda big block.

I was riding with a KLR kid. He made the comment about the rain making the dirt roads more off road worthy, the day before our ride. Well, I was leading when I had my off in the mud, no big deal I laughed it off and we rode on. Took the pavement for an hour or so to another dirt road. After going through three or so muddy stretches, I stopped to scope out my route on the next muddy stretch. I look back to check on him and he shakes his head. He had enough and wanted to turn back.

To say the least I was disappointed. A mile short of our destination (an abandoned overpass) we turned back.

Stealing an idea from another member

Kenda big block

A little wax and proper lighting make her shine bright

2nd Kenda to go on the rear. 7k miles out of the old one. It was getting real loud and a bit squirrelly on the sweepers.

Thanks for sharing pictures of brick road. I rode that road in the early 80's while attending school in Florida. Enjoy riding the S10 and spending time with your wife. My wife and I used to ride a lot. Wonderful memories...

At that time had it become an out of the way route? And thank you. I hope we can continue to enjoy taking trips together. It seems like we’ve just begun, but normal life really likes to tie people down.

Got a Delkevic pipe mounted today that my wife got for my birthday.

It’s very nice. Sounds great. At 65 MPH you can hear it but not my much. At least not with the helmet and windshield config what I have.

Nice idea with the “lunch-box” on the tank. What fittings did you use?
I used the “Cortech Dryver Tank Bag Mounting Ring” there is, however, a lower profile ring like it that may be nicer. I just can’t remember it’s name right now.

It looks like Givi and SW-Motech make quick release tank rings too
