Has anyone repainted this? I have the 2014 and believe the newer years are grey. Has anyone found a matching paint locally?

I'm assuming that the dark grey was just the color of the bare plastic. What color are you trying to match?

Its painted grey and is wearing off in spots. It was like that when I bought it.

It looks like the same color as my '17. I'm thinking the previous owner may have put a protective coating on it, and now it's wearing through. I don't know. But, if you paint, make sure you get plastic compatible paint.

You can get the replacement part without decals for $50 so I will probably do that
