I miss having a had case that I can throw my stuff in, lock it up and not have to worry about it as much so I'm thinking of getting a Givi for my 15. For those of you that have em how do they mount on? I'm assuming I have to get the mounting bracket, the case itself won't mount straight to the bike correct? Are they pretty secure that way? I'm not planning on doing any jumps but I did buy the bike for it's off road capabilities. I've seen the aftermarket luggage racks that Altrider and SWmotech sell which are advertised as being able to bolt to the Givis. Are they a little stronger or just personal preference????

I also use the Givi SRA-2101 aluminium mounting plate for my Givi Monokey top box. I've had it for 3 years and can take uneven roads (potholes) with no problems whatsoever. However, this plate is for the Gen 1 S10 and I'm not sure if it fits on the Gen2.

AFAIK there are no changes between the two generations at the rear of the bike.

I have this AL Givi plate on my bike. Looks really good. The stock top part of the rack is removed and replaced with the Givi plate. There are some spacers and bolts that is added on to fit this plate.
Only problem is you need the Yam topbox mount to fit it and if you have the base model without one they cost £100 ??? luckily my dealer gave me one but after a year, 15,000 miles the ali Givi plate has cracked around the rear bolt so I have fitted the SRA 2101 mount now, bonus is I can get a Slime pump under the topbox plate ::012::

I will make 1 suggestion, in the hopes that it may save you the mistake I made. I have a Trekker 52 top case so I can put both my wifes and my helmet in there when riding two up. With the Givi aluminum top case mount SRA2101 it puts the case really close to the pillion rider. I swapped it out for an Altrider plate with the givi mounting kit, because it moves the case back several inches. While it's almost double the price, It's worth it for my wife to have space to lean back against the backrest on the Trekker.

I'm using the Givi SRA2101 aluminum plate on my Gen II '15 model ES, no additional parts for the Yamaha OEM top case were needed. I think all US Super Tenere's come with the rear mounts already. I've been on some pretty rough washboard with no problems and I've used Givi's Monokey mounts on other bikes for hundreds of thousands of miles without incident.

If you're also going to buy a top case, I might suggest http://www.motostorm.it/ Shipping is reasonable, at $30 considering it comes from Italy and even with that the pricing was still cheaper than anyplace in the US I could find.

That is really helpful. I didn't know that an alternative to the GIVI rack exists for the GIVI monokey top case. My wife constantly complains that the GIVI top box is too close to the rear seat. Does it give 3 inches or so more space?

Also, does the AltRider rack fit without removing the OEM grab rails and OEM side case mounting rack?

I use the same plate with my top MonoKey top case.

On my first Tenere I simply used a piece of 3/4" HDPE plastic, better known as a "kitchen cutting board" and bolted the Givi mount to the top.
Worked fine.

I just installed the GIVI V40nt which is their 40L top case. The case mounts to the GIVI Sra2101. I found that the 40L top case fits perfectly between my outback trekker side cases so they can both fully open. The 40L case fits my helmet with plenty of extra room for gloves and a light jacket. I think Motostorm has the best price for this stuff but if you buy from them I recommend using paypal and converting your dollars to euros, f you use your credit card you will likely be charged a foreign transaction fee.

Yes, it does fit without removing the OEM grab rails or side cases. However, the Givi Trekker 52l top case is too wide to operate the side case top doors without them contacting the top case. You can "bend them" around, which puts stress on the hinge of the side case lid, or just remove the top case when you need to get into the side cases. I did not measure the difference in mounting location but I would say its at least 2.5 inches. With the Givi backrest installed on the 52l trekker she had me pressed up against the tank, now I can sit all the way back in the seat, and she's still not crowding me at all. It's a very pleasant two up ride. She says she feels more comfortable being able to lean up against the backrest.

I used PayPal as suggested, I guess the conversion is automatic? I don't recall doing anything additional in that regard and did not incur any transaction fees.

Thanks for that. You've answered my concerns. I have the Givi V46 top case and it also is too wide to allow the OEM side cases to open. To open a side case I remove that side case (not the top box). The main reason is that I have tail and break lights connected to the top box and in any case the side cases take only a few seconds to remove.

Hi Folks,
Please can someone confirm whether the givi rack SRA2101 will fit directly onto the 2019 S10 WITHOUT the Yamaha base rack. The S10's from '14 onwards don't come with this base mount anymore...

Just be aware of the weight limits on the Givi top racks - 6Kg on the Ali rack, 10Kg on the other. Other options are out there too, such as AltRider, where you need to buy both the rack as well as the Givi specific mounting kit for your box.

All S10s have the plastic base under the top plate. You remove the stock plate & using the longer bolts & spacers provided by Givi in the SRA2101 Monokey kit... mount their alloy plate to the plastic base.

The Givi SR2101 kit includes steel base brackets with a universal M5 Monokey plastic plate. You remove both the stock base & plate to mount this or the SR2101M

The SR2101M kit is only the steel brackets for use with a M5M Monolock plate. A univ plate comes included with Monolock cases & may also fit.
There is also an alloy plate which has the same mount hole pattern as the M5/M5M
Its the M8 for Monokey
