They are burying the big Stelvio and this really has my eye if they can deliver what they are saying. The V85 should hit the market next September with a new 5 valve 80 hp motor to replace the separate V7 and V9 lines and it has a shaft drive, which for me is a must. The empty weight is around 430 lbs and the wheel sizes are the same 17/19 that we run on the Tenere. No cruise control visible so far. New Euro street bikes all have ABS so this should.

My big concerns are price, not enough dirt bike in the frame geometry for lots of gravel and light dirt, and the Guzzi trait of being too short from the seat to pegs.

I love Guzzis!

They don't even require a kickstand.
I'm skeptical of the 430. But that would be pretty cool!

I like it, but I wonder if there will be a way to protect that good looking engine ? I'm asking because I have this "friend" who's dropped his a time or two... :)

Guzzi typically better fits people with shorter legs. I can already see that I'd probably need to replace the stock seat.

More lovely news :)
Might fit my inseam (approx. 29,5 inch), better than the S10 :D :D
But noooo, not an Italien bike...electrical have a reputation of not last long (just like a Suzuki ;D :D)

Or large dealer network. Only six in Texas. I'm weird that way. ;)
True, but the one in New Braunfels is a good place. Those fellas are motorcycle fanatics and know what they're doing. They opened up for me on a Sunday to flash my Tenere ECU a few years back. Got a personal tour of the place and the passion was palatable. Along with some great stories about Kevin Schwantz.

And I got to meet the crazy one and only Dallara!

I tried to like the old Stelvio......honest. But a long test ride with SWMBO on the back soon persuaded us to look elsewhere. Kick of the engine, knees too near the cylinder heads & wobbly handling put us off, despite various strong recommendations.

Let's hope this one works out better. Looks nice - I hope they can get the pricepoint right.

Goooood looking motorcycle!
- did not see the size of the fuel tank.
- tubeless tires?
- like that it has cruise.
- suspension looks to be a keeper. Has the offset rear suspension been tested?
- cable clutch?
- looks like it will carve canyons.
- the weight and seat height might get me off-road more often.
- luggage ???
All this niceness and it probably won't make it to California

The offset suspension doesn't worry me. Kawasaki and Yamaha have used offset shocks on their bikes before without and adverse affect.
I suspect the swinging arm on this will be pretty stiff and shouldn't cause any issues with the asymmetric design.
