Most compact thing to heat a cup of soup or coffee?

I am using a small Trangia at the moment but it still takes up a lot of room and as I only ever need to heat soup and coffee when camping are there any smaller alternatives. Also, if you could directly heat up the cup or so,etching cup size it would be better than a small pot! Thanks.

This is what I use.
It is about the smallest cooking/heating setup that I have found.

The Stove and the Fuel-Canister fits inside the cooking-Cup, so all you are packing away in your luggage is just the Cup.

Probably smallest would be one of those foldable twig fireboxes (https://www.amazon.ca/Lixada-Lightweight-Portable-Stainless-Backpacking/dp/B06XKVLS32/ref=asc_df_B06XKVLS32/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=293036632477&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5064197068463648689&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9000920&hvtargid=pla-572057960395&psc=1). I have never used one as they seem quite messy, hard to argue with the size and unlimited fuel though.

Forgot to mention, a typical stainless steel camping coffee mug could be put directly on the heat source.

Pretty hard to beat the good ol' MSR Pocket Rocket if you ask me. The Wife and I have both used them for a long time and they have never failed us once.

Defo a jetboil. I use a trangia with a gas adaptor for main cooking ie a small fry pan, and use the jetboil to cook the potatoes/peas.
After a quick rinse out, it'll do a coffee or tea

Search for 'Heineken Can Stove' or beer/pop can stove, or penny stove. They can be made with a drill and scissors, and burn alcohol; iso/rubbing alcohol, methyl hydrate, ethanol, ever clear, lock de-icer... You do need to make some sort of pot/cup stand for it, but the two pieces, plus a little squeeze bottle of alcohol, can fit in the back pocket of your jeans, or maybe inside your mug.

Mine will boil 1L of water in about 9 minutes on 1.75 oz of fuel. Way slower than my MSR Dragonfly, but also way smaller. I keep it in my BOB as a backup.

suppose that as the title of the post says, "just to heat a cup of soup / coffee", why not use a simple 12v heater ?? .. if we were to cook, or we did not have a source of energy, yes, such Maybe alcohol or compressed gas would be the best option, but having 12v at hand, a 12v heater seems like the smallest option.

This is what I thought about when I saw the question. Crude, but effective . . . . and used in all the best jails.

I have an Emberlit stove and a little fire cube, very small and very light and will boil about 2 cups of water. Instead of the cube you can use sticks or other things if you want it to burn longer.

I also thought of one of those electric heaters when I saw the thread. Besides that thought I use a small butane stove like the ones posted earlier and I have a pot/lid affair that the stove fits in along with a spoon. The butane is in a taller bottle and rides in my top soft bag. Works well.
