I would like to buy some backcountry panniers but cannot decide wether to go for two 35l bags or the offset 35l & 25l bags. Two 35l would be handier. Weight aside, do they really look unbalanced from the rear or would it be better to get offset ones. Thanks.

On a side note when you order, they don,t come with two side pockets free or do they. It seems slightly misleading/unlcear as you don,t get the advertised capacity without the extra pocket on each bag which seems an additional cost when you have to select 0,2 or 4 bags.

I hope I don,t have to pay VAT twice to get them into the UK

Think you are right Rob.

This from Mosko Moto on a Sunday during a national holiday! Excellent service for taking the time and trouble.

Hi Christopher,

Thank you for reaching out and your interest in our gear!

The Backcountry Pannier was originally a 35 liter bag with a 5L pocket attached to it. We have redesigned the bag for more adjustability. The main bag is 30 liters. It does not come with a pocket. When you order the kit with 0 pockets you will receive just the two main bags. With 2 Aux Pockets you will have one pocket on each bag and with 4 aux pockets you will have two pockets on each bag. I hope that makes sense. Sorry for the confusion.

Ordering from our www.moskomoto.eu website (orders will be shipped from Amsterdam / The Netherlands), delivery time approx. 1 week.

For all orders going to the UK from our European fulfillment center with a value of 135 GBP and more (including shipping costs), import fees will be charged by UPS prior to delivery.

These import costs are 20% UK VAT, 2% Duties, and 11.50 GBP UPS brokerage fee.
We only charge net prices for our products for all orders over 135 GBP.

That being said, the order costs did not increase dramatically due to Brexit. It's the 2% Duties, higher shipping costs (due to the fact that at this point in time our external fulfillment center can only ship with UPS to the UK), and the 11.50 GBP UPS brokerage fee that have to be added to your calculation.

For orders less than 135 GBP the 20% UK VAT will be charged at checkout and no additional costs prior to delivery will occur.
This is according to the Brexit regulations.

Please feel free to contact us if you need further clarification,

Cheers,

Roel Bremmers

Just ordered the 35l kit whilst there is 20% off with 'preorder'. I camped/toured to Scotland, Cornwall and Wales this year (6000 miles on the new bike in 6 months , just had its second service) and I was struggling with my 15 year old Oxford throw over bags so I am treating myself. The weight will be lower down, I don,t have to cram every little thing in and strain zips etc and no need to double bag everything as the Mosko stuff is waterproof and the ability to take the bags off will be a luxury. The grey and blue bags will match my bike nicely also :)

Just did the preorder for the two 35l bags. For the difference between the two your looking at 6" vs 8" thick.
New bike for me and plan to start some trips next year with the wife so I'll take the extra 10l for the bag and the bigger aux pockets.

Ordered some Mosko side bags which have just come through, I have also ordered some black army molle bags from Amazon to go on which are much cheaper and should match OK These pockets are well over engineered, VERY impressive, worth the money as a life investment. Just have to wait until March to get the bags. How can you get soooo excited about bags ☺

Yeah I do like these bags. Have you done a side by side comparison with the Enduristan bags?

I have never heard of Enduristan Matt.
EDIT Had to look them up... they are obviously not in the same league as Mosko Moto, a different market altogether but MUCH cheaper and will be good enough for many.

Similar to biking, sailing, camping, etc, I try and buy the best kit I can (er can't afford) it makes outings so much safer and easier and avoids the misery of cheaper, lesser kit as well enabling you to do your activity in the first place while some are not equipped to do it at all. I have kit going back 30 years which was pricey but is still doing its job perfectly so in the long run it works out fine. I just have to sacrifice big time financially in other areas when I buy this stuff.

I have a pair of 37 litre Givi Dolomiti cases and to be honest, I don’t think they look unbalanced as there is just under 1.5” extra width on the exhaust side. I would go for a pair of Mosko 35 litre cases every time.

Not sure which Enduristan bags you were looking at but I was comparing the Mosko Woodland with the Enduristan Evo Monsoon which when you add the import tax to the Mosko is almost identical in price. Don’t forget, the Enduristan is priced per bag and the Mosko is per pair

Yeah I am considering the Mosko. They do appear to be a slightly cheaper alternative even when you add the import tax etc. Although I am drawn to buying British too.

Matt, I would definitely get the Mosko gear. It's better value! It is regarded as the benchmark, the best with regard to design, quality and practical features which are adaptable with many add ons ( not just Mosko stuff, I have ordered Army kit to go on as it uses the same system). It's what many YouTubers on expeditions use. The only draw back is the weight and cost, comes with the amount of layers and quality of components/materials. You can lose some of the weight by going with the Mosko Scout range but really the one to go for is the Backcountry kit for all the features and durability. Loads of reviews on it, big following on Facebook etc. MOsko has its own culture almost... for me, I love the look of the Mosko stuff, you can see it's serious kit. The Givi Canyon stuff looks OK but sorry the Enduristan stuff looks shit, just looks like a plastic bag, cheap... but then I am shallow like that
Scout 25L £474
Backcountry 30L £716 but with one pocket each to bring it up to 35l £850 ish (misleading old bags were 35l, latest bags you have to buy the additional pocket to get it up to 35L. Then you want two more pockets, and a tent pole bag, and a, and a o_O
I bought mine on pre order with a 20% discount and free shipping and have to wait until March for them due to this but I am still paying about £1100-1200 I think, I don,t dare add It up! These are bags for life for me so will work out in the end. They are VERY sought after in the U.K. So command high prices, you won,t lose much if anything if you sell in a few years time.

I’ve been reading reviews about both of them and both are highly rated. The only difference I can see is that the Mosko are slightly cheaper.

But the unknown is how much the import tax will be which could make the Mosko more expensive. Quality wise, having handled both types, there’s no difference. So it comes down to wether or not I can live with the extra weight that the Mosko has due to its mounting plate. I’ll see is there are any deals at this years bike shows…

I finally took the plunge and ordered the Mosko back country panniers. Slightly cheaper than the Enduristan bags and made in China but hopefully just as tough. I haven’t had the import tax bill yet so fingers crossed I don’t get stung for too much. What sold them in the end was the range of additional bags that can be attached such as the tent pole bags etc

My Mosko moto back country panniers arrived the other day and seem well put together. I havnt put them on the bike yet but don’t anticipate any problems. Their web site shows the bags are made in China but the label on the bag says Vietnam. What I wasn’t pleased with was the bill for import charges that followed a few days later. £172!! Ffs! Got the Brexit idiots to thank for that!!
