More leg room

I am now the proud owner of a 2012 S10 with 9000 miles. Got a great deal and absolutely love this bike.

The one thing I could use is a little more leg room. What seat might raise me up the most?

And also what crash bars might offer the lowest mounting position for a set of highway pegs? I just need to be able to stretch my old legs here and there.

But yeah, after a lifetime of riding big ole cruisers, this thing is awesome.5A6AF124-4034-41BA-B0AE-1AF2AF6D931E.jpeg

Congrats on the new [to you] '12, nice clean looking example!

Have you tried the seat in the high position? After that a custom seat could easily provide an extra inch or two. Look at Laam or Russell Day-Long with the RDL typically providing the most height. For us with short inseams, the RDL makes a long reach to the ground even longer.

Good luck!

Congrats.
Try the search function for seats and pegs, and you ought to find a number of threads. For what I have seen, the most stretched out pegs are the cheapies that bolt to the crash bars wherever you want. For tallest seat, you're going to have to go custom if a beadrider or other thick pad doesn't do it.

Congrats on the purchase. I assume that this is a different S10 then the one you originally mentioned earlier this week.
That is a very clean looking S10, excellent that it came equipped with a set of Yammy side panniers and a somewhat robust
looking skid-plate (do you know what brand it is?).
Make sure you quickly Loctite the two screws that hold in the lock cylinders in each pannier as they are notorious for vibrating themselves loose allowing the lock cylinders to fall into the locked panniers and causing a MAJOR headache to open the panniers to retrieve them.
Did you trade in your Royal Star?
I picked up my new to me '13 S10 this past June and I am completely enamored with it so far, too bad Winter is staring me down.

Yeah....traded in the royal star. Honestly I wish I could have kept both but alas....my wife is not that understanding. Not sure what brand the skid plate is but I'm as soon as I'm finished with my morning coffee I'm going to go out and lay on the ground and see if I can find a name on it. Honestly perplexed that it's on there since it doesn't seem like the previous owner ever took this thing off road.

And you're right, it's not the same one I test drove the other day. Those folks did not want to make a deal at all. This one was the same price, but with 14,000 fewer miles and at least one less drop (since that one had clearly been laid down on the crash bars. Nothing a little spray paint wouldn't have fixed but I'm ok being the only one to drop my bike. Need to get some crash bars on there before I do.

That's the OE Yamaha skid plate. Very light duty, not meant for bashing around off-road, best for shedding gravel and debris kicked up from the front tire. I have the same on my '12, there's a sandblasted trac right down the center so it's deflecting a lot of road debris.

Wasn’t sure what brand it was thanks for IDing it for me.
I have a stud mounted ACD Racing skid plate on my S10.
