Hope to ride Mass to Wyoming and Montaa this year.Leave may 17th for 3 weeks.Is it too early in the season to enjoy Croads like Chief Joesph highway and Beartooth pass?

The keyword there is "typically." Beartooth typically receives more snow than Chief Joseph, so depending on your route, you can generally ride Chief Joseph even if Beartooth is closed. Best to check WYDOT and MTDOT websites before you decide on a route.
We've had a ton of snow this February, and it's possible that those roads may remain closed longer than normal. it's snowing again today.

I got to ride Beartooth in August one year. What a great place! It was still very cool on top of the pass even in August. Mostly it was the wind making it feel so cool but it was in the 40's. I really enjoyed the ride though!
