We left on June 22( my bday) and headed out for an 11 day trip to ride the mabdr then take Skyline Dr and the Blueridge Parkway back. It totaled to just ove 3k miles.
Getting ready to head out. My S10, 1 950 Super Enduro, 1 DRZ400 and 1 GS1200.

Nice camping spot we found on the first night. It was called Lions Den. 3 of us hammocked camped and 1 tented it. We camped 8 out of the 10nights.

If you watch the mabdr video then you know you have to stop at the creamery for ice cream

We had to stop at Fort Hill Cemetery. When they say hill, they mean hill. lol Pictures don't do it justice. My e07s did great everywhere except the mud and with the recent rain, it was muddy. I almost went down, honestly, don't know how I saved it when I hit wet clay. Let's say it was rider skill, that sounds good. lol

The e07 was the only rear tire that was packed in mud when I made it up the hill.

The finish line. The bdr guys and gals did an awesome job on this route. Plenty of dirt, gravel, and awesome paved country roads.

This was an awesome trip and we had a blast. 1 dead battery on the beemer made for 1 night hotel because it died when we were looking for a camp spot. Luckily 30 miles away an Advanced Auto had a replacement on hand. The beemer went down twice as did the drz. I dropped the s10 once running wide in a 180 turn with gravel. Not a scratch on my or the bike so all was good. If you get a chance to do a bdr, dont pass it up.

Great trip! I recognize Mabry Mill in that shot with the watermill. Grew up in the general area. I want to do a motorbike tour of the blue ridge parkway one of these days (years).

All the ones round here got smashed up, just like the bus shelters used too. We just don’t see them anymore, phoneboxes that is. I’ll be passing the one near Tregaron either Friday or Saturday.
