In a mad moment I decided to fit the new tyres today that have been sitting around for a month or so. Only done the rear so far. Glad I removed the wheel now rather than later on when the original tyres wear out, the ABS sensor was a bit snug with white corrosion inside and took some trying to get out.

Anyway, I've just removed the rear wheel and refitted it using the brilliant guide on here. The only mistake I made was not reading it properly as I had the cush drive come out of the wheel whilst trying to get it out and of course it jammed up. I picked out the rubbers and managed to get the wheel loosely back onto the naked cush drive and then used a bit of levering to get the whole assembly off in one go.

Old tyre came off easily and the new one went on smoothly.

Now when I thought I was going to fit Avons I noticed on their website that the recommended pressures were quite different to those given for the OEM tyres in the handbook. Couldn't get an Avon Storm 2 in the correct front size so got Tourances instead, my second favourite tyres.

So, I thought I would check what the Metzler site said about Tourance pressures for my bike. Can't seem to find anything at all with regard to their recommended pressures, just lots of advice to always use the correct pressures. It's like some sort of Germanic top secret I think. Can anyone else with more online savvy find what they think I should start with?

Not sure on the official recommended pressures, but I’ve run Tourances for the whole 36k miles I’ve had my Super Tenere and run 39r, 35f. I only ride on tarmac and enjoy spirited riding. All is good at these pressures for me.
