We both live in Phoenix. We met at a gas station on the way north end of town. Hit the Tarmac and headed north for a few short miles. AZPI (Tim) and I headed up the dirt road to Crown King for lunch. It's about how 30 miles of dirt. They have damn good burgers. On the way down the hill we took the "Y" to the left to Old Cordes. From there we headed to I-17. This is where we split up. I wanted to continue east on Bloody Basin road to check some stuff out and Tim needed to get back to town. Tim got around 60 miles of dirt and I was lucky and hit just under 100. Get day for a ride in January.

its amazing at times how we meet people.... I met my wife at church , my best riding buddy and friend on this forum ..... I met " superman " at the gas station ( he rides a vstrom ) has become a close friend.... social media seems to be the modern way of meeting people ..... we meet people in all different ways , sometimes they become long turn friends sometimes not..... not everyone we meet will be a friend sadly , its just the way it goes....... I met a guy who is a forum member at a local rally , biggest jerk I ever met ( he might think the same of me ) . you win some you lose some... to me doesn't matter the details, its good to have friends.... if in ones life he can count on his fingers more than one true friend he is a blessed man....

Dirt_Dad and I are always talking about the people we've met because of the forum, including each other. I was teaching a class last year and talking to somebody about bikes while we were on a break last year. I mentioned having a Super Tenere and a got near the back of the room said "me too."

Those are cool moments.

I have a bunch of riding buddies from way back. Snow mobile, street, dirt. I was starting to take more time off work and play more. They didn't ride as much as me so I found a local forum called riding arizona in 2005. Forum is gone now. Most of the peeps I hang out with are from there. Just went on a camp and ride with a bunch of them near Tucson last week.
