I thought I'd give an update on this. It turns out I always ride with the ball of my foot on the peg and this was the problem, as soon as I started riding with the arch of my foot on the peg the problem went away.

I guess the pain was from the lack of bloody supply and the burning sensation from the blood running back into my toes.

Thanks for all the tips and advice.

FWIW, you may want to eventually have your feet examined as it seems like you may possibly have Morton's neuroma or some degree of
peripheral neuropathy.

Normally wear Forma Adventure boots which are pretty solid. If things don't improve I'll get checked out.

What it has shown is my seat is now not as comfortable as it was, moving to the arch of my foot means my legs have changed position a bit and it's putting more weight on my backside, will try a gel pad or an AirHawk next.

Happy to hear! Sounds like a very manageable issue and that you're headed in the right direction.

As an avid cyclist, that’s in your sit bone and resonating in your foot. Seating position or seat shape is causing that if it’s what I suspect. Get cheap seat pad or wool pad to try or borrow another seat and ride.

Yeah, that was my first thought. Could this be an indication of type-II diabetes??

I had a full blood work up earlier this year and no sign of diabetes.

I've done a few hundred mile days since switching to the arch of my foot and haven't suffered at all.

For what it's worth it sounds a lot like what we call "Hot Foot" in the cycling world. Often caused by wrong saddle or other equipment choices, and could be too improper fit on the bike.

Hot foot” in cycling, also known as Metatarsalgia, is a condition where the nerves and joint tissues near the ball of your foot are repeatedly squeezed by the long metatarsal bones which run through the feet to the toes. ... New riding, increasing distance, or poor equipment often contribute to this condition.

I have this exact pain in my right foot, but it’s not related to riding my motorcycle, it mostly flares up when standing or walking for extended times. It almost feels like there’s a lump in my sock sometimes. Been to the Dr. once already and he prescribed anti-inflammatories and rest, which helps but only temporarily until I start walking or standing a lot again. Blood sugar was good.
